Crimson-JH
Josh Rimer‏@JoshRimerHockey Been told to expect that Jannik Hansen will have a hearing at some point for his head shot to Hossa! NHL looking at it now. Dan Murphy ‏@sportsnetmurph #canucks Hansen felt he was going for the puck when he struck Hossa in the head. He's aware of Hossa's history. Called it a hockey play. hockeyville88
A hearing is good. It allows Hansen to tell the story from his point of view. Seems to me like he was going for a puck that was out of his reach and he caught Hossa with the elbow. No intent to injure whatsoever. And for what it's worth: RT @nhlblackhawks: Coach Q says he saw Hossa postgame: "He seemed okay, but we'll see." #Blackhawks
Caboose
In all honesty, due to the circumstances (Canucks being killed, Hossa sustained injury, Hossa has a history of concussions) they have to look at it. I don't believe there was any intent, however.
MrsCanuck
Hawks fans on twitter are acting as if Hansen committed murder. Hate to see something happen like that to such a spectacular player and I hope he'll be okay but I see little intent from Hansen's side.
-Vintage Canuck-
@NinaFalcone Hansen on Hossa hit: "Apparently I hit him in the back of the head, it's what the ref [was] telling me." Hansen (cont.): "It's a hockey play and we bumped together a little hard."
Hyzer
No intent. Perfect legal hockey play. Hossa even backed into it while trying to catch the puck. If Hansen is suspended... by God, someone will die. Keith only got 5 for an intentional premeditated head shot...
CanucksSayEh
It was a luv tap. Seriously, no Ill will against Hossa personally, but going down like that looks straight fragile.
wallstreetamigo
Zero intent, historically clean player, what happened completely innocent when you look at the play in its entirety = no biggie Hawks player, especially Hossa though = at least 5 games for Hansen. BedBeats™2.0
That is absolutely silly. Waste of time. Pretty damn clear Hansen and Hossa were attempting the same thing; trying to corral a high puck. Our team can walk the line at times, but we are, for the most part an honest team after the MG lockdown on discipline. Nothing will happen. The Magician
He put his arm up to grab the puck out of the air. If he is suspended that will be the day. #laterhossa
Guest
No intent at all.
NZCanuck
Agree with the penalty, players are responsible for themselves just like they are with an accidental high stick (don't agree with it only being called based on injury long after the play occurred). In saying that a 2 minute penalty was all it was worth and often would have gone uncalled. There was zero intent and it's a joke if the hearing resulted in a suspension. bobopan
If that hit can concuss Hossa the hawks have bigger things to worry about. Unintentional, i can see a fine for it being a tad reckless but surely not a suspension.
Pablo
All fans are saying it was a really dirty hit and classic Canucks. Hansen would never.

AppleJack
IF(and this is a big If) Hossa was actually hurt on the play and wasn't diving then I am very sorry that one of the only blackhawks I actually like and who I think is a fairly clean player considering what team he plays for was hurt, but regardless this incident was an accident they were both going for the puck, it sounds like Hansen didn't even realize he bumped him. Hansen shouldn't even have been given a penalty on that play let alone be dished out further punishment for a clean hockey play where he was just going for the puck! The Brahma Bull
Phone hearing or in-person hearing? I honestly think it was incidental. Other teams like to rip on us because we're the Canucks. If you need any proof of that, just look at the thread where Grabovski bit another player yet many people defend grabovski. If that was burrows, we'd never hear the end of it. I hope hossa is okay. Hansen is not a dirty player and the last person he would go after is hossa. Wedge-tailed Eagle
The nhl.com comments are pure stupidity. hossa going backwards + hansen going forwards + both trying to catch puck = unfortunate contact, in now way should it be a suspension!
