Playing in the Northwest Division makes us weak - give me realignment please!

This is the worst divison in hockey and has been for years.

Only 7 teams in each conference don't make the playoffs. 4 of the teams in our division make us this 7! Compare that to teams in Chicago's or TO's division, where 4 of the teams MAKE the playoffs and we don't stand a chance.

We feast on weak teams and then when we play a good one like Chicago we get killed because we're not used to the competition.

Chicago trains on Nashville and Detroit, we train on Calgary and Colorado.

First, the Southeast division is probably weaker.

Second, remember the days when Nashville, Chicago and St.Louis sucked hard. Detroit didn't complain. Neither should we.

Teams ebb and flow in their quality of play. The teams that are great now, sucked at sometime before, except Detroit. and the teams that suck now will probably be better later, except Columbus.

I think the canucks playing in the NW division makes us fans more expectant. Brutalizing our division opponents then getting beat by other divisional leaders drives us nuts. We get so used to beating Calgary or colorado. For example, two seasons ago, we got beat by a struggling Montreal, after whooping up the northwest. Everybody thought the sky was falling. We also blame Luongo for losing those types of games, and after a few years he got fed up and realized. Realized that this division is "unique". Its even harder this season because we don't play any marquee eastern teams like Boston or the pens. In fact, we dont play any eastern teams at all this season.

Every top team takes advantage of weaker teams in their division, if they didn't they wouldn't be a top team.

What happens with the Canucks is they get complacent in thinking that the amount of effort it takes to beat teams in the NW, is enough to beat teams in other divisions.

It doesn't mean they're not capable of it. It just means they keep getting caught off guard when they think they're playing well, and then they play an actual good team, and they realize they're not actually playing that well.

Every year they've had one wake up call game that's made them realize that they're not playing well. And from then on out they put in the effort. Remember we're still basically in november as far as season starts go.
