I deliberately waited out for the first shockwave of people looking into this topic... This one was executed with intent to cause trouble. Shanny will be calling shortly... :)

I doubt he is much of an upgrade. Weise is decent if the Canucks could give him and Volpatti some boxing lessons in the off season.

Volpatti can hold his own in a fight. Weise on the other hand continuously gets pummeled in fights. The Canucks best fighter on the team is probably Kassian.

If they aren't gonna play him more why not atleast put his hitting and fitting ability to use on the 4th line?

The Canucks could really use this guy. Basically a big, physical centerman who won't score much but can hit. Averages well over a hit per game, pretty decent fighter and would be a great depth claim in case we lose someone to injury. Schroeder or Lapierre can fill a top-6 role while McCormick slots in the bottom-6.

Say Kesler gets injured again.

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Raymond - Schroeder - Booth
Higgins - Lapierre - Hansen
Volpatti - McCormick - Kassian

This team doesn't lose a step, and that is one big, scary 4th line that can score as well.

Why was Handzus put on trade proposal? You seem to be missing the point.

Ummm... you were the one who mentioned him, he wasn't brought up here at all.

So, why not a veteran like Handzus? Why do we have to resort to some incompetent 4th liner, who has been put on waivers even by a team that is worse than we are?

If you are saying that players with NTC and NMC clauses can't be talked about in the trade proposals section... I have no idea where that idea came from. As I addressed in my previous response to you, there are about 500 threads about trading Luongo and he has a NTC so it appears a person CAN make a trade proposal about someone with a NTC.

Regardless... it has nothing to do with this conversation.

(To everyone else: Does anyone understand what this dude is talking about? Am I just trying to explain to a troll or someone who genuinely doesn't understand?)

GET HIM ON THE WOLVES.

Haha.

Seriously though, if GMMG could, he would be great playoff depth as a 14-15th forward..

Ebbett + a cond. 7th 2014 for McCormick?

Saves Buffalo the 1.2 million for next year... 7th only gets traded if McCormick plays 15+ games next season..

If Cody is now in the minors and he gets trades to us. Does he now have to clear re-entry waivers and some bugger team scoops em for half price and we on the hook for the other half?
