tonicwater
Henrik Sedin is 4th place (behind only Jagr, Datsyuk, and Elias) for active career +/- He is also 55th all time on that list. Just thought I'd share. Go Canucks

Canuck Surfer
Yeah, well its not like Hank takes too many defensive draws against opponents top lines. He might be the most sheltered player in history in regards to plus minus? Look at Carbeneau who is only a few spots behind and ALWAYS played against the opponents top players. I'm not saying Hank is a bad player, not at all! Its hard for opponents to score against Hank mostly because they cannot get the puck back, because him and Danny are sooooo good at controlling the puck. But he is a specialized offensive player and we should not make the mistake of thinking he is a great defensive player because he has a good plus minus! danjr
Sedin most sheltered. Give me a break, Gretzky didn't line up for many face-offs in his own zone, as well as lemieux. There are few elite players that coaches put on for defensive draws. Any coach who consistantly puts his stars out in the defensive zone is doomed for failure. Canuck Surfer
With a name like Dan junior, gotta wonder if you were old enough to have watched Gretzky? Him and Lemieux played in an era of firewagon hockey. You just rolled out your lines and they duelled.Scotty Bowman and the Canadians were an island unto their own employing specialist tactics. This is before guys trained in the off season and used camp to get in shape, sport science and advanced hockey metrics. Back home if Ferguson put out Hawerchuck's line, out popped Gretzky, Kurri and Semenko. Sedin most sheltered. oldnews
Using the word "sheltered" to describe the Sedins is just a braincramp. Using the Sedins in offensive zone starts is a no-brainer - you don't waste their energy and their strengths - nothing "sheltered" about that - nor the fact that AV frequently matches them up against the opposition's top line. Miss. (I have a feeling this is still some kind of latent, subconscious dwelling upon/confusing the Hodgson context.)
mcgillnuck
Good on 'em. But that's obviously a reflection of his offensive skills and not his defensive ones. He was -11 in the playofs during our run. Which was second worst in the league after Ehrhoff. /Daniel and Alberts took 3rd and 4th worst
