To Wash Loungo Raymond Van 2013 1st round pick To Van Ribeiro holtby Wash 2013 1st round pick Wash gets what they have always needed an established dependable goalie to eliminate all the questions and the revolving door of rookies. They flop Ribeiro for Raymond to save a buck in a season they are not competing in and they maintain a lesser first round pick Canucks get the second line set up man the Kesler and Booth desperately need in Ribeiro. I love Kesler at center but I really think he could stay healthier and contribute just as much in our own zone on the wing. Holtby is a sufficient back up and is restricted so will be here next year in case Lack doesnt recoverer. Van gets what looks to be a fairly decent first round pick. This pick could go both ways if you do this trade now Wash could start winning and the pick gets worse or vise versa. If you wait until the deadline and washington is in the bottom 5 they might not do this trade with the talent level in this years draft. Nathan MacKinnon, C, Halifax Though his role with Canada at the world juniors was limited, it did prove that the dynamic offensive presence can also play a complete game and a physical one, at that. Scouts weren’t flustered, either; they love his explosiveness and North American pro game. 2. Seth Jones, D, Portland A key to Team USA’s gold medal performance at the world juniors, Jones locked down some of the most dangerous opponents thrown at him while also demonstrating his puck-moving abilities. He’s got the offense, the defense and the edge. Is there anything else? 3. Jonathan Drouin, LW, Halifax The highlight-reel type of player that everyone loves. Drouin has an unparalleled set of hands for his age and teams them with vision for deadly results. Size is a slight drawback, but only in a nitpicky way that won’t affect his stock too much. 4. Sasha Barkov, C, Tappara Had a decent world juniors, though Finland as a whole disappointed. The son of a local hero is dealing with an incredible amount of hype back home, but is still putting up points and his big frame makes him an enviable asset for the future. 5. Elias Lindholm, C, Brynas As part of a young Swedish team that surprised the WJC in earning a silver medal, Lindholm backed up his stature as a two-way player who can really contribute. He showed great hands in Russia and a commitment to defense. 6. Sean Monahan, C, Ottawa With the 67’s stripping themselves down for a rebuild, Monahan is pretty much on his own for the rest of the season. That may hurt his stats (and definitely his plus-minus), but at his core he’s still an intelligent player with a great frame and excellent offensive capabilities. pghockeyguy Posted February 20, 2013 Author Share Posted February 20, 2013 Don't get me wrong I've never been a huge fan of Ribeiro because hes soft and a little bit of a defensive liability but with Kesler and Booth on his line the good outweighs the bad. Kesler desperately needs a puck possesion player that can set some things up in the offensive zone instead of him having to rely on wrist shots off the rush. Zoolander do you even follow hockey for 1200 posts? Ribeiro is a UFA after this season so if they are tanking why wouldnt they give up Ribeiro? allkill326 are we giving up a 1st in this proposal? No! we are trading a 20th+ pick for a potential top 5 pick in a stacked draft. Plus he's not coming here to be the #1 he's coming to be a back up who recently had an awesome playoffs.
