Rink on Renfrew
I met them... I wanna say around 2000/Music @ Work tour I think...though it could have been Phantom Power and a year or two earlier. Went to go see them at the Moore Theatre in Seattle (great little venue FWIW). We met them outside after on the way back to their bus. They were all more than cordial but Gord lingered the longest and was the friendliest. I was surprised at how he seemed so reserved, almost shy. Quite the polar opposite to his onstage persona! Super friendly though and chatted and answered questions, seemed quite down to earth. Red Light Racicot
Any songs of theirs that are at least 18 years old I guess... there is something about these bands that produce like... a dozen albums... after they have lost the magic that rubs me the wrong way. BoggyDepot
It's hard to take seriously anyone who's named after a movie that only 13 year olds found funny. Then again I guess humor is subjective, just like music. Opiated, When the Weight Comes Down The Luxury, Fiddler's Green Pigeon Camera, Eldorado Yawning or Snarling, Titanic Terrarium (Day For Night fav hip album) Springtime in Vienna Thompson Girl, Escape is at hand, Emperor Penguin (their last great album imo, still released more great stuff but not as full albums)

aGENT
Speaking of...anybody else interpret these lyrics from New Orleans: I had my hands in the river, my feet back up on the banks Looked up to the lord above and said, Hey, man, thanks Sometimes I feel so good I got to scream She said, Gordie, baby, I know exactly what you mean She said, she said, I swear to god she said
