Italia2006
I would be good doing 2 seperate deals. 1st deal would be to trade Lu for Gudbranson and Mahtias. 2nd deal Edler for Simmonds and a 1st rounder. That would be good for our cap and take care of all of our needs.
oldnews
If any trade occurs between VAN and TOR, I want JVR is return. Philly was doing great when JVR was part of their team and now they're tanking. TOR was tanking before JVR was there and now they're much better. Canucks_Hockey_101
That must be it..JVR... Or maybe it's Schenn - Schenn was in Toronto, now he's in Philly. That must be it. Or maybe it's Toronto. Toronto is in Toronto. That's it. Toronto was 14-8-2 last season on Dec 1st, 2012 after 24 games, 30 points. And then the tank began.... This year Toronto was 15-9 on March 6th, after 24 games, 30 points. And then 0-3-1 and the..?..began??? How about Toronto? Luongo to Toronto for say, a first and second round pick in this year's draft, and a first in next year's draft? Or Luo to Boston for Seguin and Hamilton, and then Seguin, Hamilton and Jensen to SJ for Couture. Ummm, nah. How about...Luo and Schroeder for Couture and a 2nd/Sheppard and Niemi to Toronto for Gardiner?
Canucks_Hockey_101
Yep, Luo for Gudbranson and Matthias would be good, very, very good. What's MG waiting for?

Brick Tamland
Three bullets; we most certainly have expendable depth on LW (assuming in and amongst trades we get a RW) where we routinely employ 1-2 LW on their off wing EVERY game. A near perfect trade for us; Get Brad Boyes as the veteran rental with Nino and a first! Boyes is a legitimate sniper, physically competive and playing to keep his career; an upgrade on Higgins talent wise and a natural RW. If they'll include Nabakov, great! He's playing great for them, but its not like they're planning a cup parade & if he's in their long term plans they can re-sign him this summer! Better trade; Nino, Boyes and Harmonic for Ballard and Lou... Well, there are lots of hopeful suggestions here! edit: And wait till the deadline; we would have a slew of wingers from which to score any centre or D at the right price... WiDeN
Do people forget Lou has veto power? Me thinks he likes getting paid to play 50% of the games in Van over 95% of the games on Long Island.
theminister
Last draft, the NYI offered Columbus every single one of their picks to move up 2 spots to take Ryan Murray instead of Griffin Reinhart. In an alternate universe the Canucks could offer Luongo to the Isles for those same 2012 picks. 2012 Entry 4 1 Griffin Reinhart D Edmonton Oil Kings [WHL] 2012 Entry 34 2 Ville Pokka D Karpat [sM-liiga] 2012 Entry 65 3 Adam Pelech D Erie Otters [OHL] 2012 Entry 103 4 Loic Leduc D Cape Breton Screaming Eagles [QMJHL] 2012 Entry 125 5 Doyle Somerby D Kimball Union [Mass. H.S.] 2012 Entry 155 6 Jesse Graham D Niagara IceDogs [OHL] 2012 Entry 185 7 Jake Bischoff D Grand Rapids H.S. [Minn. H.S.]
oldnews
^ That was a pretty strange and bold offer wasn't it... as was the decision to turn it down. I guess the Isles were looking for D prospects... That's interesting theminister. Prevailing logic around here seems to be that an old guy like Luo with a half dozen meaningful years left on his contract isn't worth a single top 10 pick. And yet a particular GM moved a boatload of A list young players/assets to get a couple older guys making a combined 11 million into the 2020s - and won a Stanley Cup shortly afterwards. Reinhart (although not having a stellar year), Pokka and Pelech look pretty good though.

thad
How would you guys feel accepting upshall as a cap dump if it got a deal done for either matthias or goc and Florida's 1st? Then we just buy him out next year as a favor for the golden draft pick. We'd have to move Ballard to fit him in but It's not like we'll miss the pressbox hero that much cus AV never plays him anyways. Matthias/Goc 1st upshall Luongo I'd prefer matthias myself but could care less as the draft pick is the centerpiece. Then we fix our immediate problem and still get a young future star. You could end up with a return of matthias mackinnon upshall if luongo doesn't creep them up the standings too high.
Canucks_Hockey_101
Hahaha I forgot about that. I wonder what kind of retarded deal we could con them into? Lets trade Schneider and our 1st for Murray. Then turn around and trade Murray to Nyi along with the rest of our picks for Strome, Rienhart and a 1st lol Columbus gets Cory, New York gets Murray, we get a couple adequate future pieces and everybody Wang chungs tonight
