I'd like a HBO 24/7 more than an outdoor game tbh, but wont happen with the Heritage Classic I dont think.

Yeah! Kinda disappointed it's against Edmonton but I guess they're the best option since it has to be two Canadian teams. Certainly better than the Lames.

It's the most cost-effective option.

Sick!

I know how we all really want to be part of HBO 24/7 but, given how the Canucks are always on the cutting edge of off ice development of their players, I don't know that I'm comfortable having them exposed like that for other teams to see.

Obviously we wouldn't divulge our secrets on a documentary but even just seeing how we operate in the locker room may give other teams ideas that they would then adopt. And it would be an added distraction for our players. We have very few attention seekers on the team. They don't want to be exposed to the media like that. A locker room is sacred and it should remain that way.

I'm sure the Canucks will do a fantastic job of giving the fans access to all the Heritage Classic festivities. That's enough for me.

In terms of a rivalry (and weather) wouldn't it make more sense for the Heritage classic to take place between Calgary and Edmonton?

Also I wish this was the Winter Classic and it was against Vancouver and Chicago!

I know. I don't know much around here, but thanks for paying attention to me, anyway.

Don't you think your post is quite off-topic? Besides, it's morning here. 5 a.m.

You must be way behind in your time zone, since you live in BC.

me too and if the league had a brain cell between them, that is exactly what it would be......unfortunately, the winter classic is controlled (as is the league) by American tv so this will never happen......shame, its best rivalry in hockey just now

If there were a WC game with Vancouver and Chicago, oh man, I anticipate there will be more than 150,000 people going to the arena to watch the game.

Giving the scope of the Canuck/ Blackhawk rivalry the networks could totally play it up, make it way more dramatic to get the ratings.I am sure though if they did that we would all hear about how 'evil' the big bad Canucks are and what 'heroes' Chicago is and how everyone was pulling for the Blackhawks.

i think it's safe for me to say with confidence... Vancouver will never ever be in a winter classic... we really don't have the history to be part of one... Vancouver Chicago is just a good rivalry... there's literally no history between the 2 teams other than the last couple playoffs...

If Buffalo and Washington can be in one, so can we.

Also, we should face Ottawa instead. Two teams that have never taken part in these secial events. Edmonton and Calgary have already been in one with Montreal.

Summed it all up.

I for one would be happy to buy tickets to this, but I live in Victoria and Edmonton is a ferry ride and alot of HWY away from me. :(

If they're considering Vancouver hosting the game in March, you know they're talking about BC Place with the retractable roof to be closed in the event it rains. Yes, I realize it wouldn't be a true outdoor game. However, we all know that these events are more about the corporate dollars that can be generated through more, higher priced seats, concessions, merchandise, tv, etc. than it is about nostalgia.

Chicago at Vancouver in a blue lit BC Place would be ideal. What a rivalry!!! Make sure we bring our 'A' game.

As a previous poster mentioned, Vancouver and Ottawa would work well for an all Canadian match up since they both have not partaken in such an event... or maybe Winnipeg.

But if Vancouver and Edmonton are ment to be, that will be fun too.
