sting
Absolute embarrassment defensively. For anyone about to pile on Luongo this was THE worst defensive effort I have seen in a Long time......3 goals by his own defense, 3 power play goals and what the hell was Kesler doin on Andersson's last goal. Geeesh!!!

Tortorella's Rant
What a joke. The defense gave Luongo no help to begin with. Appalling penalties in the second; undeserved penalties. A complete inability to generate any offense in the second period, like the first period against Nashville on Friday. Sit Garrison out and put Barker in for a few games. Oh, and people are going to blame Luongo and only Luongo but as Garry Valk pointed out: The Canucks defense has been slipping with 22 goals against in the last 6 games, and Roberto has played half? those games, so. Learn to analyze properly instead of just blaming the tender you silly bunch of ignorants.
NuxFan09
The story of this game was the Canucks getting evidently rattled by the terrible reffing and completely folding. I will glady throw the refs under the bus for yet another pathetic display but I won't blame them for the loss. The Canucks just completely got off their game and from the 2nd period on went out with hardly a whimper. Pathetic to watch.

sedated
Brutal game for Luongo. He had no luck from the start and it just went ugly from there. Ugly bounces and horrible defensive coverage once again. Offense looked good, but only for a period as per usual. If our goalies don't play well, be it from average goaltending or bad luck, we're usually crap out of luck.
DownUndaCanuck
Brutal game by everyone except the Sedins, Higgins and Alberts. Biggest problem is that no passes were connecting and the Canucks were bobbling the puck like crazy. Defensive positioning was terrible, 3 goals against off Canuck defenders is unacceptable, 2 of them off Ballard. Every single Canuck had a shocking game defensively so I'll just highlight the good games. The Sedins were obviously carrying this team, but even they disappeared after the 1st period. Higgins was amazing all night long on the forecheck, deserves a permanent spot on the 2nd line. Hansen was pretty good too but nothing special, and Kesler was especially invisible tonight. I thought Alberts was strong all game long - good positioning, some surprisingly nice rushes up the ice and shots, and he's the only Canuck defenceman to play a good physical game. We need him in the playoffs, not a guy like Tanev who was brutal tonight. Luongo was hung out to dry, probably only really let in 2 or 3 soft goals (including the last one) so the 8 spot isn't as bad as it looks. The Zetterberg was clearly one he should of had, and the Brunner goal from the sideboards was brutal but that's about it. 1st goal - Tootoo scores off Ballard's butt and in, no chance. Krownall's goal deflected perfectly off Hamhuis' stick and into the net, a perfect deflection. Brunner's 1st goal tapped off Garrisons leg and bounced straight to a wide open Brunner on the side. Cleary's goal was a cross crease pass that Garrison should of had tied up. That second last goal deflected off Ballard's stick and pinballed into the net. We just weren't getting bounces all night long and Detroit was, as well as brutal reffing which opened this game wide open. Kassian needs to be a healthy scratch for the next game - 2 ill-advised penalties that cost us, and another that probably wasn't deserved but nevertheless gets called. 3 minor penalties, and Weise's hit should never have been called which was the difference in the end. CptCanuck16
Great game tonight. Good team effort, solid goal tending. Luongo practically stood on his head to keep the team in it. I can't be anything other than proud of the boys. Go Canucks! In LUUUUUUU we trust!

bobopan
Luo's stats are down the drain now LOL. wonder what that one Luongo lover is going to say now.. he can't point to "THE STATS....LOOK AT HIS STATS.HIS STATS DONT LIE". anymore. Anyways, Luongo was hung out to dry tonight, certainly a few bad goals but the team as a whole sucked. Don't understand why AV kept Luo in the whole game, absolutely no reason for that unless Schneider was indeed sick as one poster suggested. How we come out so flat once again in the 2nd period is concerning.. 2 ???? shots are you kidding me???.
Rick 2.0
Our defense needs a shakeup, and I'm not talking about another injury. Its brutal, and it shows when our goalies don't play lights out.

Toni Zamboni
its funny that an 8 goal against game makes you wanna trade Lu again, but at the same time kills his trade value.
