Half the Detroit starting line up is on the injured reserve list. If the Nucks fall apart because of 1 guy, they're toast!!!

And Detroit played last night. Sure didn't look tired did they?

We're not an elite team anymore. We are a better than average team that looks good because we are in a very weak division.

Right we are not elite anymore! Because on the road across the country we come back with a winning record?

Seriously I love it. You just make me laugh :D

i find it hard to blame Lu for this one sure he should have had a couple of them but most he had no chance.
it was a bad game so what, learn from it . now both goalies have had a bad game ,now let move forward and hope this is it for blowouts.

I like how AV doesn't pull Luongo, takes balls to do that.

Played a crappy game, you finish it. Would've been funny though if it was miraculously 8-8 and he put in Schneider lol

Right and the only team to not loose in regulation this year has also not beaten us in regulation either.!

Canucks are in a good position right now to peak near mid to late season. Hawks are peaking to soon, it will cause them issues and every team is now figuring out how to play them and their record will drop.

Count on it!

Well, they are professional players and should be able to handle playing 2 games in 2 days if teenage girls can handle 6 games in 2 days in a tournament...

there is always some sort of excuse

when we play back to back - oh we played last night so we were tired

when the opposition plays back to back - oh they played last night so they were not rusty as us

For whatever reason, I'm going to attempt to make some people feel better.

December 17th, 2011 - LA loses to Detroit 8-2. Goes on to win Stanley Cup.
February 11th, 2011 - BOS loses to Detroit 6-1. Goes on to win Stanley Cup.
March 25th, 2010 - CHI loses to Columbus 8-3. Goes on to win Stanley Cup.

This loss does not indicate how Vancouver will do in the playoffs. Even the best teams get blown out now and then.

No one should be blaming the coaching staff for this super poor pathetic effort by these so called 'professional' atheletes. The only guy that should have an excuse is Alberts after his long layoff.
Kesler looks lost and continues to take lazy penalties, Ballard looks lost, Schroeder starting to play himself back on to the Wolves.
Luongo held us in for 1/2 the game but he didn't get much support.
MG needs to shake this team up and trade for a goal scorer and another centre.

Terrible biased reffing for a original 6 team. Bad coaching decisions, sloppy play. Meager shots and offensive play and that's the game

They beat us with a bunch of AHLers!! Brunner got 4 points??! What happened to our second line? The Sedins put up some offence but aside from that, this team got the poop beat out of them by a team that played the night before and was without 7 or 8 of its starting lineup.

Once again the effort just simply wasn't there. This team's identity is that it has talent and will hang around long enough to win enough games to make the playoffs. There has not been a game thies year where they have all showed up with a 100% effort and played for 60 minutes.

Detroit exposed the Nuck's D system and lack of effort that Nashville couldn't.

For those saying Chicago only beat us in OT...did you watch the game? 30 scoring chances given up with 15 of those grade A!!!!

THis team has been dominated for long stretches of time in every game against teams outside their division. Their W/L record is very misleading. WIthout their goalies playing Vezina-like, tonight is what happens.

MG is right to hold onto both goalies beause they are the only reason this team is a contender forr post-season. MG can trade anyone else he wants just keep the goalies.

Not going to name any names but I find it comical how a few guys on here are saying it wasn't Luongo's fault

These same people said Cory's game against Dallas was all Cory's fault and even pointed out the week goals in Chicago.

I hope this just shuts everyone up on both sides for a while

Cause in hindsight, you look pretty stupid after something like this.

It's hard for anyone on either side to say a loss was completely a goalies fault unless the goalie let in a number of soft goals and the team played well enough to win.

If a team plays well and the goalie lets a in a few weak ones its fine to blame the goalie for a loss.

If a team plays like crap and the goalie plays great and the team loses then you'd have to place blame on the team.

If a team plays like crap and the goalie lets in a few weak ones then the blame needs to be spread around. This is the one that rarely gets used around here as many posters here like to blindly blame the goalie(Luongo and Schneider) even when there's plenty of blame to go around.

This was exactly what crossed my mind when I first saw the score (after being stuck at work). Thanks for posting it, should help with some perspective for anyone that's willing to look at this somewhat objectively.

well at least we didn't win playing poorly. IMO the worst thing that could have happened would be to eak out a point or 2 after playing like that. It was a good reality check for the team I expect them to improve from this.

Luongo gave up too many far wristers. Ain't no defense going to save those unless they block the shot. If we need to do that to prevent goals, then we might as well not have a goalie.

Does anyone else find it funny that the youngest, most inexperienced d-man on the backend has been the most consistent guy all season long. The argument was always "he's not playing against the opponents top lines, that's why he's doing good". Well, he's been eating tough mins for the last few games, and continues to be the most consistent. I wish AV would give him more mins, even on the PP.

The Canucks were doing fine until the refs decided to be part of the game.

They were controlling the game, had all the momentum until the Redwings pulled their Ref card.

That 'interference' penalty to Kassian was just the kick start the Redwings needed. Then the Weise penalty? apparently you cant hit Redwing players. And to top it all off, Kassian gets a chirping penalty in a 5-3 game :picard:

It should'nt be suprise to anyone tbh, thats why i would hate the Canucks to face an original 6 team in the playoffs, we seem to get the short end of the stick. The only way there is fair reffing against an original 6 team is playing another original 6 team.

So many bad factors skewing this game in the Wings' favour. I can't lay all the blame on our team. We had our good moments and we had our bad moments, we lacked puck luck and the reffing was atrocious. I don't really know where to begin, there was just so much going wrong! Embarrassingly lopsided game. Oh, well. Clean slate for the next game, boys!

Is she a dress wearer or a pants wearer? Could you share a rowboat? Could a rowboat support her? Would an average size rowboat support her without capsizing?

to be fair, it was Nashville.. I'm pretty sure you could play against Nashville and just catch a nap on your skates.

And still win.

Half their lineup injured and we lose this bad? Come on.

Ballard's first bad game of the season, hopefully AV doesn't punish him too severely for this.

Terrible last 40 minutes. Just wow.

Can't blame the loss entirely on Luongo because the whole team was a debacle, but he never looked big, pucks were going through him, he wasn't moving laterally, and he lost his positioning frequently. AV should've pulled him after the 4th goal, I just don't get his decision-making tonight.

Well, maybe it's the motivation the Canucks need. Optimism right?
