Half their lineup injured and we lose this bad? Come on.

Ballard's first bad game of the season, hopefully AV doesn't punish him too severely for this.

Oh no do punish him. I hope he gets the Rome treatment. *wink

Oh well, this will be an excellent lesson for us to maintain tight defensive coverage, as well as playing more effectively in net.

Go Canucks Go! We still believe! :towel:

Congrats to Detroit for its outstanding game today.

Well 1 bad game does not make a season however I agree with those questioning AVs decision to leave Luo in net in a game we were never going to come back in. I missed the post game news conference with AV - did he happen to discuss why he didn't pull Luo?

Little bit of history lesson for you pal...it was Mario Tremblay that kept Patty Roy in nets...long before AV's turn as HC of the Habs.

Every team lays at least one egg during the season. But it's just a loss and the team needs to forget it and move on to the next game. Prepare for the Yotes and get 2 points next time.

Watching today's game was like driving by a car accident...you don't want to look, but for whatever you reason, you have just have to.

Lets hope that today's game acts as a wake up call that the boys needed to start playing to their capabilities...thank goodness that there aren't bonus points awarded to the opposition for how badly a team loses on the scoreboard...it's still two point we let slip away, but at the very least, it's only two points.

I don't know how you can give him a penalty for that when it's the Wings player crashing into his own net. *sigh..

I couldn't figure that penalty out either. In the replay Kassian never touches the goalie, let alone interferes with him.. The refs were retarted tonight.

Silly Canucks fans. No one should surprised when Luongo lets in 8. We`ve seen that many times. Literally many times. Joke of a number 1 goalie. I let him go if it was 5 goals, 6 max, but 8. That`s terrible goaltending.

Players Nikolaj Ehlers have been compared too by the fan base of the Vancouver Canucks.

1 Pavel Bure

2 Markus Naslund

3 Nathan Mackkinon

4 Jonathan Drouin.

5 Jonathan Tavares

combine results.  Ehlers 5'11 162 lbs of solid rock.

Were you saying that when Luongo had the best goals against average in the league?

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Don't know how anyone can put all the blame on Luongo. Brutal calls against the Nucks all night, and the penalty killers allowed 3 straight.

Luongo could have been better, but our D and special teams could have been WAY better.

I think it's pretty obvious we need to acquire a real top 4 shutdown defenseman. With the D the Canucks have and the money they have tied up in it, they should be able to make an average goalie look like an all-star. The fact that we already have two all-star goalies should put us over the top, but it's not.

These kind of results are not acceptable for a team like Vancouver. If this isn't the wake up call game, then they're never going to wake up.

You can blame the goalie and defense when he lets in 5

You blame the coach when he lets in 8

While the Nucks played horridly as well, the refs played their part in the debacle. Haven't seen officiating that pathetic since the Chicago series in 2011 before GMMG had enough.

I know we like to blow leads and refs are bad.... but holly did we ever get smoked... we had two leads in this game... and we end up 9-3 when we were up 1-0 and 3-2... we pretty much got killed by the Detroit farm team and they played the night before also... pathetic.

Gotta get those special teams going... we have been sucking at special teams for a very long time now...

I'm more concerned about our D pooping the bed for like 16 games straight. We have 2 ALL-STAR goalies, yet they look terrible with our D-corps. How is that even possible? Our BEST defencemen is on an entry level contract.

Well said ....actually it was 9 goals - he got lucky on a quick whistle when he let out another joke of a rebound.

At least it was the Wings. I can take solace in the fact we lost to a team like them.

Not me. The Wings are only 2 games over 500 after tonight and they are not the juggernaut they once were, not by a long shot. This was simply awful.
