Lemieux
This team is built to beat up really bad teams like Minnesota and Columbus. It can give you the points and fill the seats in the regular season. This team doesn't seem to be able to persevere and rise above themselves. This is the problem. The Sedins can't protect themselves, despite the fact that they are supposed to be grown 30+ year old viking descendants. They are like punch bags. H. Sedin is a Joe Thornton wannabe, and you know that Joe is no Burnaby Joe. He was only an ineffective fourth liner on team Canada! And then there is the issue of having no character. The Sedins aren't gonna protect themselves, so who are they gonna protect? No one. The other teammates have seen that, so they have decided not to protect the Sedins. The first Chicago game after the Keith hit was horrible. They basically just let Keith walk away. I remember watching a video of Trevor #16 fighting Rob Ray (yes, that beast, Rob Ray) one-on-one. This is how you motivate the team. You take one for the team and you show that you are the leader. People compare the 2011 team with the 1994 team. I have been watching the Canucks for more than 20 years and I have seen both teams. The 2011 team is not close to the 1994 team.

Tortorella's Rant
A Joe Thornton wanna-be? What the hell does that mean? Are you suggesting Henrik wants to be a lesser player like Joe? Offense is the name of their game and Henrik has been a bigger contributor than Joe for the last few seasons now, regular season and playoffs. Anyway, the rest of CDC can dissect your post. j3ff
Henrik Sedin is definitely not a Joe Thornton "wannabe" ... I do wish we had a captain who was able to stand up for his teammate compadres though... maybe the next one will be feistier and more aggressive than Hank. Not to take anything away from Henrik, he's led our team as well as he can these past few years

*VaNcOuVeRCaNuCkS*
Why do these threads come out of the woodwork after a loss?? Why wasn't this thread made after the Nashville game?? The Canucks could win 81 games in a row and then on the last night of the regular season get beat to finish off the season 81 - 1 Next days threads would look like this "AV outcoached once again" "Trade Luongo for a bag of pucks" "Fire MG" "Sedin's are soft" "This team has no Character" "Raymond falls to much" "Schroeder is to small" "Were not tough enough" Please continue to add

22Sedinery33
Thanks captain obvious, obviously the 2011 team is no where near the 1994 team due to different eras and playing styles. That's like comparing a 1994 Ferrari to a 2011 Ferrari to see which one is better? The team is fine but the our D core needs to get it together and AV needs to stop shuffling the D pairs in order to keep consistent of what actually works. As for your interpretation of the Sedins one can simply laugh and give your head a shake if you are a so called fan for over 20 years. We don't have a Linden on our team, that time is done and over with, however our record has been holding steady in which most fans are happy with. Enough said. Qanux
Captains do not need to fight. I'd say Henrik did a good job by getting the offense going and that's what he does best. The Wings who are the class act of the league didn't have a "tough" captain for years. Every team loses. The team won 2 and loss 1, will lose some more and win some more. It's a long season. You'd really like to see Henrik risk busting his hand or wrist in a fight and miss some games? On the other hand, Sedins and Burr seem to have got their groove back! Really nice to see. The team has 3/4 of the season to figure out the best line combos for the playoffs. Hope we can add a faceoff specialist to replace Manny cause we really need that for the PK.
