Jury Duty Question

19 posts in this topic

Hey, so I got a bit of an issue. My grandma (89yrs old) just got summoned for jury duty, problem is that she doesn't understand a lick of English, and she's in poor health.

Is there anyway to get out if it? And what happens if she doesn't show up?

You can just write a letter explaining that, she'll be fine.

It's in the interest of both parties that your Grandma not be involved. A letter should suffice (if not your own letter, a letter from your Grandma's Doctor).

I was selected for jury duty while going to school full time and working full time.

I wrote a well put together letter and was granted an exemption.

A buddy told me that if you don't register to vote, either through your tax return or otherwise, then you'll never be summoned for jury duty. Not sure if that's true or not.

You clearly didn't see the first post, as it states that she doesn't understand a lick of English :P

You don't have to know English to still hate black people.

Thinking so is prejudice to English speakers.

I want to be on jury duty and then be sequestered. Free room, free food, free swimming pool, free HBO, ooh FREE WILLY!

I always vote and Ive never been selected. I think the law is prejudiced against me.

There is only one solution: You must dress up as her and fulfill her duty. Be a man! Do the right thing!
