Why is Hossa not on the concussion list. I know it was stated as a non concussion, concussion but I'd bet he stayed on the ice longer than everyone of those players.

I don't understand why some of you are still at arms for Hossa not being concussed...

This is what happens with no training camp and a compressed schedule.

The league still hasn't actually addressed the problem either. It all comes down to the equipment.

I can see pulled groins and other injuries of that nature a result of what you mentioned, but concussions? How does little preparation and playing constantly cause a guy to take a hit off the noggin'?

Hockey Helmets should have one-time compressible foam that gets swapped out after every shift with a major collision, like motorcycle helmets.

Also players should have neck protectors like race car drivers.

Obviously neither of these things makes sense, so we just remove headshots and cross our fingers.

Makes you feel grateful of how Healthy Henrik Sedin is for us all these years.

Players Nikolaj Ehlers have been compared too by the fan base of the Vancouver Canucks.

1 Pavel Bure

2 Markus Naslund

3 Nathan Mackkinon

4 Jonathan Drouin.

5 Jonathan Tavares

Perhaps players are not as sharp mentally, so they aren't as aware at game speed.

Hopefully the Canucks don't add to that, this team clearly isn't dealing with injuries on defence very well. First game without Bieksa and we blow 8 goals up in our face.

What a horrible stat. The league really needs to find a way to put and end to this. I'm not advocating for no hits, as I like to see a good clean hit. Put some money into developing better helmet or something. Hate to see such good players out of the game. A head injury can have long term effects, both physically and mentally.

The fuss about concussions seems to have died down a bit since Crosby got back full time, but it's still a very real issue the league needs to address.

I'm just thankful we haven't had any of our players concussed this year, though it's not an injury you'd wish on anyone.
