Wow, would much rather have Gagne then Booth on the 2nd line (both are injury prone anyway). Only a 3.5 million cap hit, where was Gillis.....

Welcome back!

He is probably upset about not being able to play with Richards and Carter anymore, but he has his old friends back (Giroux, Briere, Hartnell, Coburn)

I'm happy that Philly got him back. It was a shame the way they traded him when they did.

It reminded me of this which was made during that offseason.

Too funny.

Gagne's been sitting out as a healthy scratch, so it's probably just a matter of getting him somewhere where he can play.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

:picard:

Gagne is washed up. He's played 108 games in the last 3 seasons and has had 24 goals in that time. There's no way he would even survive the playoffs. He's soft as tissue.

Booth has had some bad luck with injuries in the last couple seasons with the knee on knee, and now his groin injury. But he has played 147 games in the last 3 seasons and scored 39 goals in that time.

For an extra 700k I would go with Booth every day of the week, it's really not even close. But of course people on here think every other player is a superstar compared to Canucks players.

In those 3 seasons, Gagne also has 24 pts in 34 playoff games. He doesn't need to be the top line player anymore, great guy for secondary scoring.

Yup, only 11 games this year (0g, 5a) and he's sat the last four as a healthy scratch - which have coincidentally been wins for LA. The 4th turns into a 3rd from Philly if they make the playoffs.

Dafuq? a 4th for Gagne?!

I didnt think Philly needed scoring depth... perhaps one of their forwards is going to be traded for a defenceman.

GMs trying to improve their team, meanwhile........... MG is still being 'patient'.

The NHL is a fixed old boys club. I've come to acceptance with that and just watch for entertainment. The 2011 & 2012 Canucks are champs in my books. Go Canucks Go!

Good deal for Flyers.

However, for those saying Gillis should have done this - do we really need another soft LW? Seriously?

Maybe let's put this a different way, who would CDC'ers drop from our current roster to put Gagne is his place? LA apparently only wanted a pick back, so it doesn't seem like we could have trade a roster player (particularly not one with significant salary) back.

There's more to a deal than just that a team got a decent player.

Good deal for Flyers.

And just as I post my update, good post by D-Money.

right and depth is a good thing for the Fylers since chances are one or more of their players will out with a suspension (although not long enough) for yet another dirty cheap shot.
