malhotra really wow if he plays gillis should be fined by the league

He is not going to play. He is done.

The team has already stated that he will practice with the team occassionally as he is a positive influence.

You should be fined for not paying attention.

If Manny ever plays again 1) I will have the utmost respect for Manny. Great person and 2) I will have 0 respect for MG. Shutting down a player as a roster move.

I have to agree. MG says he put him on the IR for Manny's own safety, but then he takes him off because our depth is thin again? If it is indeed a roster move then that's pretty disrespectful IMO.

They've already said Manny is out for the season because of their concern for his safety, but they invited him to join them for practice any time he wants. I believe AV even said he wanted Manny to work with the forewards on faceoffs. So, just because he's there doesn't change anything. It just illustrates what a devoted, awesome guy Manny is! And should let us know that he obviously still has a good relationship with the team, so people can stop looking for proof that they screwed him over just to make roster room.

If that's what's happening then nvm, love MG

Higgins - Shroeder - Kassian
Volpatti - Lappy - Weise

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Yah he sure did rush back, coming back 5 months after the expected date is really rushing it. He should definitely sit out until next season just to be sure.

Like a week and a half before he returned he said he couldn't even lift him arm above his shoulder

And if Manny plays again after having more done medically to improve his vision, which he can do now that he's not playing?

@SteveEwen
#Canucks Ryan Kesler NOT SKATING at Canucks practice. Running various line combinations.

I wonder what the lines are at practice. Should be interesting.

There's three days until we play the Kings on Saturday, so I don't know that any line changes would be with that game in mind. Perhaps they are too, considering our play of late.

Sedin - Sedin - Kassian
Raymond - Schroeder - Hansen
Booth - Burrows - Higgins

That looks good too.
When Kesler returns:

Sedin - Sedin - Kesler
Booth - Burrows - Higgins
Raymond - Shroeder - Hansen
Edit: Volpatti - Lapierre - Kassian
<_< Malhotra

I think we have enough depth to stack the first line.
Man oh man, I wish AV would consider this.

Actually, I was only wrong on the time. About ~3 weeks before he said it himself. That's not enough time to heal fully and regain full strength

IF Kesler was going ot be out beyond Saturday, they would not have risked losing Volpatti to waivers.

He has a sore foot and they are just trying to keep the swelling down. He'll play Saturday.

Manny is just skating with the team as a "guest". AV made it clear he was welcome any time. MG isn't stupid enough to bring him back after shutting him down for the season for safety reasons. The league would be all over the Nucks for that.

Wait, what happened to kesler? Why does he have a cast on? At least its his foot and he is walking not using crutches! This kind of freaked me out when I this thread originally I thought it was his arm/shoulder! Thank goodness it doesn't sound that serious! We need a healthy (non diving ) kes come playoffs and its obvious from the last few games that he isn't quite on his game now! Also if kes is hurt why would they send valpatii (sp?)Down on waivers? I am so confused as to what this team is doing?

He is faking it like Hossa... clearly.

Team 1040 just reported that it is a broken bone.

Anyone bet whether we see Weiss or O'Reilly in our lineup in the near future? I think we just lost the "wait for someone to panic" in the goalie trading game. We need help in the middle, yet we have some decent depth on wing. We can add one of Booth/Raymond/Higgins to a package.

This may speed up things for Gillis in moving Luongo. It's just time. The stars are aligned.

WHY IS KESLER ALWAYS RUSHED BACK INTO ACTION AND FORCED (or self-forces) TO PLAY THROUGH INJURY?

Ugh. No wonder he hasn't had a spring in his step lately. I commend him for still putting up good numbers.

I think the Canucks can add a quality centre without making a goalie trade.

I think it would be even worth giving up our 1st this year for the right player.

We can get more picks in the off-season.

??????

Ummm, rushing a wrist injury wouldn't generally cause a broken bone in your foot. I am no Dr. Recchi, but I don't see the connection.

So he decided to play through it to make it worse so he can miss some more time and come back rusty for the playoffs and screw our season again? Nice, should have kept Hodgson.
