canuckfan85 Posted March 7, 2013 Share Posted March 7, 2013 I think: Schneider Cannauton Booth 2014 first for Okposo and Strome (?can we add Matt Martin?) is a very fair trade, that improves on both club's needs The Islanders can score, they have scored more than the canucks this year. They however have not had a good goaltender in a over a decade (luongo). This gives them a franchise goalie (potentially) that can grow with their team. Booth takes some of the sting out of trading okposo (who is not one of their top scorers), helps their cap, helps our cap. Strome gives us an outstanding prospect and we give back a first and cannauton that helps to continue their rebuild. I have added Matt Martin, just because I like him a lot and he is a guy that fits perfectly into the canucks 4th line. what do you all think? canuckfan85 Posted March 7, 2013 Share Posted March 7, 2013 I like the tavares deal- I think if the canucks added a little more, the Isles might go for it. Yes he is their franchise player, but they have strome coming up and by adding a top 5 goalie in the league as well as Kes, They could become a potential playoff team, especially if some of their young guys come through like Hamonic and Reinhart. I like the WPG deal, the DET, BOS deal and the FLA deal. I'd even add more into the FLA deal to make it happen. canuckfan85 Posted March 7, 2013 Share Posted March 7, 2013 Schneider = 80 games, against top NHL teams- Boston, detroit, LA, SJS- Schneider was arguable the canucks best player last year and would have made a run at team MVP had he played more. Has Bernier threatened to take a number 1 position in LA? NO Bernier has had many protected starts against weaker teams. not sure why one would compare the two.
