HKSR
If his style of game was really something irreplaceable he would have never been placed on waivers....
canucktican
Tough times for Canucks over this past week. First the Detroit game, then the Phoenix game, Kesler's injury and now this...hopefully things turn around on Saturday.
poetica
Again, it's not that he's irreplaceable, but if it costs us anything other than "FREE", the asset mismanagement is what is bothering most people here.

WL Canuck Fan
So you clearly don't watch games then. He hits fine just not as frequent as Volpatti occasionally does.
hockeyville88
Big shame Good luck to him in Washington.
WL Canuck Fan
I can't say that I'm overly upset about losing a 4th line, dime-a-dozen, fringe NHLer. That said, Volpatti was a Canuck and I cheered for him when he played. Good luck with the 'Caps! Now, I wish they would recall Vandermeer instead of Ebbett. Jimmy could play D until KB3 comes back and then he could play wing on the 4th line.
Tearloch7
Volpatti is too small to play the role he is best suited to, and lacks the skill to play anywhere but the 4th line .. he will be lucky to ever play more than half a season due to wear and tear on his body .. Weise has better potential and has actually learned to fight well enough to protect himself .. love Volpatti but his days are numbered .. Now that he is in the East he will have to fight every game pretty well .. doubt he lasts past 10 games without getting concussed .. to bad .. great guy .. great life story .. 406281dylan
honestly guys volpatti was good, but i think i rather have a guy with a bitt more skill down their, volpattis and weises are replacable. But it is the guys who have that special quality to them like a lapierre or hansen or torres who are not replacable.
Salo'sBomb
Tom Sestito is on waivers. Would be nice if the Canucks picked him up. Looks like a good replacement for Volpatti.
canuck73_3
The frequency thing is mistaken also. Weise has 40 hits in 19 games, Volpatti 42 in 16. Not a ton of difference in frequency there, especially considering Weise spent some of that time in the top 9 where his role was not simply "ground and pound"

VicNuckleHead09
How is my post "clueless"? If you're going to call somebody out at least make some sense. What's "clueless" about wanting a fighter and player you respect to win a fight against a fighter and player you don't respect? Because Weise is a Canuck and Volpatti isn't? Yeah that makes lots of sense. When somebody becomes a Canuck it doesn't make you obligated to fall in love with them. Classless I can't take. Homers love to throw that word around.
