Volpatti claimed by Washington

Darren Dreger@DarrenDreger
Wsh claims Volpatti off Waivers from Van. Flyers place Leighton and Sestito, and Dal place Wandell on Waivers.

I officially have no idea what the thinking behind waiving him was....

They had a roster spot open, so didn't need to send him down. If they wanted to get him more minutes, was that really worth the risk of losing him on waivers? They could have activated Pinizotto without exposing anyone to waivers. Heck, they could have even sent Schroeder down for a day... activated PInizotto... put him on his conditioning stint... then brought Schroeder back up before Saturday's game.

Not the end of the world as 4th liners are easily acquired... but it is not like we have a glut of tough guy big hitters on the team...

There better be another piece to the puzzle coming up soon to make this a reasonable decision.

Cue the panic. Let's remember Dale Weise was a waiver wire pickup as well.

Sweet , lets get rid of the one guy on our team that actually hits people and can throw bombs.

Kumbaya Canucks, maybe by 2020 we can clone Mason Raymond and just dress 4 lines of him.

I haven't been a supporter of the Canucks for long. Mainly because firstly I know nothing about NHL and secondly ESPN America only started showing NHL 3 years ago.

Although it's in a different spot (we'll leave it in CT for now, as people will be interested in this as a current Canucks related topic), a thread was already started prior to this one.
