Salmonberries
The pick is likely to be a high one. Tough decision for Colorado.
drdeath
This is an interesting one. Colorado doesn't want to match but if they don't they show a major weakness in letting a divisional rival offer sheet their player. Move totally reeks of desperation by Calgary but I can't blame them for making it.
Canada Hockey Place
He needs to be re-qualified... @ $6.5m/? Good job NHL team owners on the lockout.
DeNiro
Weird move for Calgary really. It's not like they have a bunch of young pieces to surround O'reilly with. So now they'd be stuck with a bunch of aging players, a couple young pieces, and no picks or prospects coming up to help them.
TOMapleLaughs
Wow. Things in Cowtown haven't looked THIS awesome since they acquired Olli Jokinen...
Salmonberries
The Flames would be better served drafting high this year. Jones, Mackinnon, Drouin or Barkov would be easily within reach with the team they have now. No need to trade Iginla to make it happen either. They're plenty bad enough to take a run at Seth Jones with Jerome in the lineup.
WestCoastCanucks
David Pagnotta @TheFourthPeriod Seeing your questions... Told from very reliable source CGY's offer sheet was the only one he received.
DeNiro
Maybe they can counter losing their first by trading Iginla and Kippersoff for some high picks.
Trebreh
I hope Colorado doesnt match and O'Reilly stinks it up in Cowtown giving Colorado a lottery pick, then bolts back to Russia. lol

DeNiro
Any teams acquiring them likely won't have high picks.

Millerdraft
I thought O'Reilly demanding $5m was ridiculous as it was but now they have to qualify him @ $6.5m in a little over a year from now?! That's just rich.

knuck
Colorado won't match. Maybe Calgary trades iggy or kipper back to Colorado to get the picks back. Problem solved!
elvis15
If he stays in Russia this year, doesn't his contract slide to next year? That would mean they could trade him next summer. Why wouldn't they hold onto him until he can be traded for the best value?
