Sanford
Didn't we just do that with Garrison paying him 4M+? The thing with O'Reilly is that he's an upcoming solid two way forward centerman who will have a long career in the NHL. He's going to become one of the best two way centers with the right development but right now, it's a bit of an overpayment..
DeNiro
We probably offered less money. I couldn't see Gillis offering him more than 4.
Salo'sBomb
He most likely declined it for the reason A: Calgary was offering more money and B: He's automatically their #1 or #2 Center and will get much more ice time in Calgary than he would in Vancouver
TOMapleLaughs
ROR getting this kinda payday just solidifies why i'm comfortable with my personal ban of NHL products for the time being. Pointless lockout.

DeNiro
Because the Fourth Period is anymore reliable than theFan 960? I highly doubt that.
JiffyPB
Lol at Flames fans being proud that he signed the Flames offer sheet. It's because they offered him 6.5 million. Only Feaster is dumb enough to offer that much. And I bet the Avs match, so it's all irrelevant anyways.

RunningWild
Botchford just tweeted it isn't true. Said they had zero interest. Makes sense considering he sounds like the Hodgson v-2 - down the the meddling dad and all. TEAM Radio @TEAM1040 RT @elliottpap: Canucks say they did not tender an offer sheet on Ryan O'Reilly. "Bad scoop," commented AGM Laurence Gilman.

WL Canuck Fan
There's a difference between filing an offer sheet with the league and making an offer to the player and his agent. I'm sure several teams made inquiries to O'Reilly, and it turned out that the Flames made the offer that he liked the best. It happens. Good on the Canucks for trying to land him though. Also good on the Canucks for not overpaying him just to land him.

WL Canuck Fan
I see no evidence the Canucks offered O'Reilly 10 mil over 2 years, just that they tendered an offer sheet, one that apparently Calgary topped significantly. Who knows what ours was, the amount is conjecture.
