Canuckerbird
You either misunderstood your wife, or your wife misunderstood the news. Gas prices here in Manila are around P60 or $1.50 per litre. Taking into account that the average Filipino who owns a car probably makes something like $15 a day, then I'd say Filipinos would have a reason to complain at another gas hike. Diesel is cheaper here at around $1 per liter.
Gross-Misconduct
They should find Christy Clark (where ever she's hiding) and complain to her. In her heart, isn't she Filipina?

hudson bay rules
no, the on screen graphic said 1.01P per gallon, so that part she didn't alter. I wonder if it was talking about natural gas prices and she just missed it?

aeromotacanucks
well. it isn´t expensive for USA or Canada. but for them it´s expensive... our case: (1 US Dollar=2 BRL [brazilian Real]) 1,40 US Dollars/liter of Gasoline 1,50 US Dollars/liter of premium Gasoline 2,30 US Dollars/liter of Aviation Gasoline (some cars use AVGAS) 0,80 US Dollars/liter of Etanol 1,00 US Dollars/liter of Diesel 1,10 US Dollars/liter of Bio Diesel (only for flex-fuel engines) for us pay 1,40 Dollars for each liter is an absurd when in Venezuela you have 0,05 US Dollar for each liter of Gasoline. but for americans 1,40 per liter is nothing... even using Etanol we think expensive pay 0,80 US Dollars for each liter. it isn´t hard imagine the situation in Fillipines... Offensive Threat
The average Filipino cant afford a car and with gas prices at $1.40 +/- they couldnt afford to drive it anywhere anyways. Scooters and bikes rule over there. They can thank Ferdinand Marcos for the massive corruption and mismanagement that is still holding the country back 25 years after he was driven into exile.
