Matt Climie is in net for the Wolves and it's actually Jack Campbell in net for the Stars, not Nihlstorp.

Just heard on the radio that Rodin was out for two weeks after getting "minor surgery". No details about what the surgery was for.

Scores!! Adam Polasek blasted one in after a pass by Longpre deflected off Davies' skate right to him. Good for him to score after being a healthy scratch for the last three games.

1-0 Wolves.

Fight! Adam Polasek is making his bid for the Gordie Howe hat trick by picking a fight with Francis Walthier after Walthier sent Stefan Schneider down to the ice with a dirty hit.

Sounds like it was a bit of a draw. Good to see Polasek step in!

Scores!! Archibald bumps the slump, as he took a chip pass off the glass from Davies, flew into the zone and buried it!

2-0 Wolves.

Good to see Pinizzotto get in right away. His conditioning stint has officially started.

Hopefully he can be up with the big club sooner than later.

Good to see Rodin back in the lineup, as well as Polasek. Sweatt continues his tear with an assist.

Can't believe I didn't mention this earlier, but Pinizzotto is in the lineup! He's playing with Rodin and Schneider.

Gallagher had a line about Rodin suffering a "hernia, and not of the sports variety, of the old-man variety" in his "Canucks are Cursed" Op-Ed...

Kassian.... Taylor Pyatt 3.0

Lies. He's more of a Steve Bernier. Hopefully his talent level goes up so he can become like a Taylor Pyatt.

No, he's still in the ECHL. He's the backup to Joel Martin for today's Wings game.

The Wolves are icing a shorthanded lineup tonight, dressing only 11 forwards and the usual 6 defensemen.

Lines:

Sweatt - Longpre - Haydar
Archibald - Friesen - Davies
Pinizzotto - Schneider - Rodin

DiDiomete and Miller are being subbed in here and there.

Joslin - Andersson
Matheson - Connauton
Vandermeer - Polasek

Climie

Stars are controlling the play here in the 2nd period. The Wolves seem to do this on a regular basis. They'll play extremely well for one period and the momentum will completely swing the next.

I'm trying to figure it all out. AGAIN, the Wolves commentators have proved quite unhelpful. They quickly run through the list of scratches and don't bother to indicate who are healthy scratches and who are injured and what those injuries are. Never any details with these guys. On top of that, the Wolves website sucks. No game story at all and no mention of Pinizzotto getting back in the lineup. I found that out by looking at the boxscore on the AHL website. Pretty shoddy for such a storied AHL franchise.

A couple defense breakdowns here by the Wolves, and now a fight. This time it's Longpre who took exception to a bad elbow to the face of his defenseman Mark Matheson and challenged Stars defenseman Hubert Labrie.

The commentators just took another look at the hit and it actually appears like it was a solid shoulder check on Matheson, not a vicious elbow like they originally thought. No penalties on the play, except the fighting majors.

Well, Ebbett has "officially" been reassigned to the Wolves so maybe they needed the roster spot?

Not much happening in this 3rd period. A couple nice saves by Climie and that's it.

There is no roster limits in the AHL.

Ebbett just didn't make it back in time for the game.

It really makes no sense why they would scratch Mallet, when he is a healthy body.

Climie continues to make save after save after save. The Wolves have been sloppy in their own end, but credit goes to the Stars who have been pouring it on. They just can't get one by Climie.

Still don't agree with Arniel keeping Cannata on the bench as much as he did, but you can definitely see why he wants to ride Climie. Climie is a damn good goalie at the AHL level. He and Haydar seem to be the backhones of the team.

Climie fends off a flurry of Stars chances at the end to preserve his 5th shutout of the season. Insane performance by him in the 3rd. The team in front of him did close to nothing in the 2nd and 3rd,
