If AV and the Nux are going to use him in this role. 4th line centre with a bunch of dump and chase, crash and bang grinders...

3:36 of ice time after 2 periods...2:44 during Even Strength

I'd rather see Jordan sent to the Wolves and play 20 minutes a night in every situation. Ebbett or Pinzi can play the 4th line centre plug role..

Once again another prospect dies under AV's tootelidge......What does AV expect from a rookie? 20 consecutive phenomenal games...AV doesnt know how to teach, instead he just punishes and uses guys he is comfortable with.

Schroeder wasn't going to do much more than what we've seen. He's not all that fast.

If it makes you happy we could give him more icetime and lose though.

Good idea?

It's simply a matchup matter tonight imo - LA has some beastly big centers for Schroeder to handle, (and there have been some weak penalties adding to the minutes Schroeder sits - the Canucks have been shorthanded 20% of the game).

Keep him up. This won't last.

Whut? Yes. He has no endurance yet and therefore has already worn out from the grind of NHL hockey. Hence, slow. Esp. first stride.

What, are people seeing Patrick Kane?

I think it's just a situation where we're playing a really big team (the biggest, as the folks at CBC have taken the time to show us) and AV might think that Jordan isn't in a situation where he can succeed. I'd imagine he'll get more ice time tomorrow.

-1 tonight. In 4mins played.

Send him down because he needs a better role against softer competition. But don't assume 'magic will happen' just because you give a guy more icetime.

I don't know what people expected from an under-sized, inexperienced rookie. He has 5 points in 17 games and is a minus 1... minus 2 after tonight, I think. He has some skills, but he is too small and too weak on his skate to be a consistent player in the NHL. He is a PP specialist, not a 4th liner.

It says a lot about Schroeder's play when MayRay is playing centre ahead of you when MayRay has never played centre in his life... ever!

Back to the Wolves you go, JShrey.

And yet to some folks here, he's 'exceeding' expectations. LOLidiots.

lol @ these AV homers

did you even see why he got -1?

it was your precious andrew alberts losing the puck behind the net, so how do you blame jordan for that one?

why is it any prospect or young player the canucks get these AV lovers say things like oh its the players fault

1. grabner 2. hodgson 3. schroeder 4. shirkov

so simple to blame the players then i ask why did the scouts get these guys?? if they are just busts?

OPEN your eyes AV has zero patience with young offensive players

he can only develop players like jannick hansen more grinders for AV

We've got nobody to replace Schroeder with so he'll stay in. He's good defensively at least.

Holy sh** you can be so annoying.

He's playing with bangers and crashers that aren't known for their hockey sense.. You take a small skilled center and put him with 2 giants that know how to score/play and he'll make things happen. In other words, you put the teams best passer (behind the Sedin's of course) between Booth and Kassian. Lapierre played good tonight but he lacks offensive upside and if the team needs depth scoring, the 3rd line center needs to create chances.

Where's the offense?

Because it wasn't coming with his proven NHLer linemates.

The problem once again is that we have no patience.

Schroeder will be a legit NHLer. But he isn't one now. No matter what time or linemates you give him.

He's not screwed and neither are we. You just got to let/make the player develop.

We didn't draft Patrick Kane.

He'll make due for now but yeah...I don't foresee AV being comfortable enough to run with him as our 3rd/4th line center come playoffs; definately see us picking someone up at the deadline.

Schroeder has been in the minors for a long time, maybe it's not patience, maybe his body is not for the NHL,

I think the fact AV played Schroeder in a fourth line role in this game - and scratched Ebbett - is as much of a compliment as it is a 'demotion.'
This was a hell of a difficult matchup - Schroeder did fine in his limited minutes.

Ebbett has been the real disappointment here.

I guess he's no Jason Krog. Lol. I remember some idiots screaming bloody murder when AV didn't give him top-6 time either.

This was not the game to give him top minutes. Small rookie center on a team without their best 2-way center, and you expect Schroeder to step up and take that role in a game against the big team like the LA Kings. Defending champs btw.

Probably back on the 3rd line tomorrow against Calgary, as Lapierre looked ok, but not at home between Kassian and Higgins...

I think another consideration is that the Wolves are mismanaging Canuck prospects.

Schroeder might be taken out of their lineup to help him learn the NHL game because, in the AHL, the Wolves are inserting their own 'favoured' players, rather than the Canucks'.

When Kesler returns there is no reason to keep him up here. He is not big enough to make an impact physically in a bottom 6 role. Much like Hodgson their is no future for him in this franchise as long as Kesler and Henrik are here. He's done a good job filling in for Kesler, but I hope he gets sent back down to make an impact in a top-6 role with the Wolves when Kesler returns.
