That was a good first fight as a Canuck from Tostito, look forward to seeing him more. I love Volpatti, but I think that he just didn't bring the fear factor that Tostito does.

Edit: Also, I think this was the first game we played a full 60 mins. Good to see.

Well, you can say how Ballard has been really good and stuff, but look what happened.. he got scratched and the Canucks put in a great defensive effort. I'm not saying the pulling of Ballard is causation, but just stating the facts.

Great game by the whole team, i'm a little disappointed in Schroeder though, I was hoping he'd get a point.

I guess it doesn't really matter because he'll light up Calgary again tomorrow!!

And just to make this point made:

Great job by MayRay, and KESLER should be a wingerrrrrr!!!
He could wind up for one timers on the left face-off dots like Stamkos

Schneider let in a couple of bad goals, but came up big when we needed him to. The first goal beat him cleanly and the timing of the 2nd goal was as bad as it gets, a clear brain-fart that would have deflated this team so he needs to thank Raymond for stealing the momentum back. Then in the third there was a great sequence of saves that kept the Canucks in the lead. A solid game, not a great game, but it's a good first step.

:picard:

No quarter eh?

He made clutch saves, some point blank.
The only flaw was his foray behind the net, but then there was also the Alberts factor.

Awesome, I called the score too! From the GDT I said 5-2 Canucks, and I got most of the scorers right, including Hansen, Hamhuis, and Higgins.

I'm going to start predicting more!

Yeah you did! That's why I booked on here looking for the smartass that called it. Very lucky call.

Raymond played well at center, but isnt very good in the face off circle. We may have beaten L.A in the playoffs last year if Daniel was healthy. The twins made the queens look pretty silly in their own zone..

According to MG the last road trip a lot of the Canucks had the flu. That might be a major reason they were under performing. Easy for people to jump on the team when they don't know what's going on behind the scenes.

Really didn't like a couple of the calls tonight, 2 minutes for skating with a stick in your hands as far as I'm concerned. Team looked sharp, had a lot of jump, and we took advantage of a shaky looking Quick.

Liked that they didn't just play defend the lead, either, had two men forechecking right up to the end of the game, that's how to win a game.

decent ish bounce back game? that cough up took nothing away from his game . he made numberous huge saves after that and there were break downs all over on that play from bieksa missing a hip check in the neutral zone taking himself out of the play ,to alberts and schnieds getting their signals mixed . both our goalies are terrible at playing the puck under pressure they should only leave the net to stop dumped pucks on PPs

cory was good, not great. had nux not been able to score more on quick, they would have lost the gm

giving away pucks twice is one thing, i am more impressed by cory not to let it bother him, and he kept cool and made goods saves in the third.

May Ray looks like he's taken the next step in his development. Amazing what a bit of confidence, being healthy, adding some size and going to the net does.

He has really really improved. Perhaps the offseason training to strengthen bc of the horrendous injury has made such a huge leap in his strength.

I don't see him falling down anymore, and his shot is just ridiculous. He definitely is stronger on his skates. Give the horrific injury and they way he's come back...I gotta say, this kid has heart...

Kudos MayRay, keep it up!

MG is scaring me. "Maybe we will (keep both goalies) and try and improve another way"

So you want to have a 4.5 - 5.5 million sitting on the bench throughout the playoffs? A nice insurance but is it really worth it? We only have a short window here. Look what LA did with Jeff Carter last year. He sounded almost resigned to keeping both with his answer.
