Socrates
So we changed from a goalie graveyard to a defenseman graveyard
Bagofcats
Rough patch, he seems to elevate his game in the playoffs. It's a messed up season and may be giving him problems if he stays healthy I'm happy
KING ALBERTS
edler has been brutal all season... the only injury he could still be nursing would be a brain injury. every single time i see him skate behind the net and stop on the powerplay i die a little bit inside... the fact that he follows up wasting 20 seconds of a powerplay with that STUPID drop pass that EVERY team knows about really made me give up on edler this year. a bad season is a bad season, 2 bad seasons and a couple TERRIBLE playoff showings is the player we have now. he's not going to get get any better folks, time to face facts - edler was playing above his abillity, and what you see is what you get, a #4-5 defenceman making #1-2 money. brewdog
Well, the good news is that Edler isn't likely to every play that badly again. Seriously, what was going on inside his head with that last play? It's like he pinched and floated the puck toward the middle at the same time.
Drouin
It's because the organization still ignores the fact that the team needs a puck mover(Ehrhoff) and wants Edler to put up points and play like a power play quarterback. He's got above average speed for his size, but he isn't a smooth nor fast enough skater to be a effective puck mover. Don't look too far ahead. Looks like Hamhuis is following in Edler's footsteps. Since when did you ever see Hamhuis this offensive in his career? Tanev isn't too far behind, he's starting to jump into plays too. Next thing you know, Garrison is going get a crack at being a puck mover.

WonderTwinPowers
Could be his chronic back problems still bugging him
Samuel Påhlsson
Corrado needs to give him a lesson on getting shots through. If he doesn't try and shoot that puck through someone the kings don't go down the ice to score the winning goal last night. Bieksa as well. Erik Karlsson
I don't think he can be physical anymore with his back problems. Which confuses me as to why Gillis would sign a defensman to that kind of a contract who's only good at putting up points.... I think I'm starting to dislike Gillis more then AV.... Mr X
Edler is broken. Whether physically or mentally, he's the biggest liability the Canucks have. It's sad. He projected to be a superstar dman. It never happened, and I don't think it ever will.
WheelOfDiscipline
I honestly haven't liked the way Edler's been playing for years he's had the odd game where he plays well (generally his physical games) but most games I just watch him constantly cough the puck up, I was legitimately disheartened when we resigned him this year. Blueberries
No, he needs to just play that hitting game and use his shot. He cant be the PP qb and cant be the puck mover, and that is the reason he has been bad. Ballard has speed make him the puck mover and use Hank as the PP QB, he can set it up and pass it to people for one timers and then he doesn't need to shoot the puck. chrisbanks
to think how highly touted he was ... if gillis wouldve thrown his hat in the ring it couldve been the canucks getting james neal and niskanen from dallas insted of pittsburg all pitt traded was goligoski at the time elder was probably a higher rated D man.
