VicNuckleHead09
That is exactly what I'm talking about. There was no "small group of professional troublemakers" as the mayor and police chief would like to have you believe. The rioters were Canucks fans just the same as all of you. They rioted because they were angry about losing. It is this tendenct to always try and place blame somewhere else that is so largely responsible for the reputation the fanbase has. Heretic
BTW, though a troll, the question is interesting: 13 teams have yet to win a cup, St. Louis waiting the longest St. Louis (1967) - 3 trips to the finals (68, 69, 70) Buffalo (1970) - 2 trips to the finals (75, 99) Vancouver (1970) - 3 trips to the finals (81, 94, 11) Washington (1974) - 1 trip to the finals (98) Phoenix (1979) San Jose (1991) Ottawa (1992) - 1 trip to the finals (07) Florida (1993) - 1 trip to the finals (96) Nashville (1998) Atlanta (1999) Columbus (2000) Minnesota (2000) LA got theirs last year for the first time since being in the league since 1967 (they lost in 93). î мцšт вяздк чфµ
we'll win it when AV decides to put Lu and Schneids in net at the same time. 2 goalies in net are better than
CALGARY!
This post was obviously started by a troll, I am guessing a Boston or Chicago fan. I personally am a Calgary fan, as my username implies. Despite the rivalry I do not hate the Canucks, nor any other Canadian team, in fact I even cheer for Edmonton, unless they are playing Calgary. First of all you can not blame the riots on hockey fans, as we all know the riot was started by people who most likely could care less about the outcome of the game, but rather wanted an excuse to trash things. You cannot judge all Canuck fans based on those riots. I don't personally believe in any conspiriacy theories against Canadian teams winning the cup, but there have been alot of "bad luck" instances that faced all Canadian teams in the last decade to make the finals. The no goal call in OT of Game 6 in the Calgary Tampa finals of 04 was a bit of a bit of a let down. The next season when the Oilers made their run, they suffered an injury to red hot Dwayne Roloson, who could likely have made the difference in them taking home the prize against Carolina. Watching Ottawas run after that it certainly seemed that officials favoured the Ducks during the finals. Vancouver iced a great team in the 2011 run, reffing was questionable in the finals, but ultimatley injuries and a few slip ups by Luongo cost the Canucks the cup in 2011. Last year LA was highly underrated going into the playoffs, on paper they had a stellar team all season, as they do again this season, and you can't fault Vancouver for losing to them last year, as they were a sheer force threw out the play-offs. While sadly the Canucks window to win the cup is closing slowly, they still have a shot at contending this year I believe, if AV would pick a goalie and let him get into a groove, and not keep tossing up the line combinations. One of my biggest peeves with Mike Keenan when he was in Calgary was the way he would re-configure every line about 20 times a game so no one ever really got to gel with each other. It seems now AV is doing the same, where as in years past he would let guys stay together, work threw difficult times and ultimatly gel. There is no need to come on to another teams board and troll like that, why not go to the Leafs board and ask why they havent made the playoffs in a decade, or to the Oilers board and find out why even with all their stud skilled youth players they are still battling for yet another first overall pick, or come over to the Flames board and ask why we didnt start a re-build 2 years ago when Kipper and Iggy would have brought some good trade returns. In pro sports you need everything just right to come out on top, skilled players and management, lucky bounces, good officiating and keeping your guys healthy and injury free. My 2 cents

EagleShield
82 - Mike Bossy 94 - NYR was essentially Edmonton from 6 years prior 11 - Blown call on Boychuck vs Raymond. IMO, ref gets that right and we win it in 6.
allkill326
NYI in '81: Isles outplayed us. NYR in '94: We were too unlucky to score the tying goal. BOS in '11: We were outsized.
