sam13371337
i actually have to agree on this.. chavez was an elected leader of his people. As much as you disagree with his policies, its extremely disrespectful the way the harper government has treated his death.. at least have a little humanity. chavez wasnt dead 5 minutes and they were talking of "improving relations" in a good riddance your dictator is dead now we can do business type of tone.... there are far far faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar nastier regimes in the world that we have perfectly good relations with. If a canadian head of state died (relatively) early in life of cancer, and a country canada has bad relations sent out such a message 5 minutes later. there would be a major uproar. nucklehead
He's just jealous that the people are genuinely mourning the loss of their leader. If anyone needs their worldview challenged it's Harper.
kyledude
They're right. He used the man's death to make a political point in very cynical and condescending language - pretty much what we've all come to expect from Harper Inc. Harper = Globalist Chavez = Not
Common sense
Because Venezuela, as we know it, is a bastion of media freedom...

Aladeen
Doubt anyone would shed a tear if Harper passed away. In fact some people might just start a celebration because they hate him so much. He has really damaged Canada's reputation during his tenure.
Dittohead
The anti white anti west crowd is out in full force today. Please move back to the middle east if you hate the people here so much. Oh wait you won't because it sucks over there. I know people there and they are happy he is dead.

Gurn
Funny how the west is all about democracy and elections- until they don't agree with whom the people elected. Hamas is example one Chavez is example two.

Buggernut
That said, though, you'll never hear the same words from Harper whenever a Saudi king or any other dictator who's an ally of the US dies.
