Trading a goalie isn't going to bring back a better goalie. Or a star D or FW that another team isn't willing to trade.

All aspects of this team are struggling. Goaltending, defence, offence, special teams ..... It's not a matter of tweaking or filling holes. It's not a good time for Vancouver to trade.

If the key players on the team aren't being utilized effectively in the regular season, why would anyone believe they will in the playoffs?

Exactly right....never mind another first round exit, at this rate we won't have anything to make an early exit from.

Step 1) Trade away one of the goalies.
Step 2) Fire AV.

After tonight, somebody better be getting fired. This is embarassing. If we lose Tuesday AV needs to go immediately. This is absolutely unacceptable. We have lost 6 of our last 7 games and have looked like a joke.

Yeah, and where the hell did that leave Philly? They are doing worse than us. Guess what? Kesler is a great player. Kesler at 100% makes this team much better. Plain and simple.

Their goalie and d issues have everything to do with that by trading Richards and Carter they got younger and better.

Their forward group is as good as anyone in the NHL.

I'm really not sure what needs to happen but more cliches about working harder, finding our game and playing 60 minutes will not do it anymore.

AV needs to go. Why is Lapierre centring a line of Booth and Kassain? Schroeder and Lapierre should switch lines at least give Booth and Kassain a playmaker to play with. I have said it over and over The Canucks will never win the cup with AV behind the bench he is terrible. Each playoff series he gets outcoached and it is getting to the point where it is sad to watch.

Your not going to win a Stanley Cup with Hansen, Higgins and Raymond as your second line. I think its flipping arrogant and ridiculous that Mike Gillis thinks you can win a Stanley Cup with that. You want to win a cup, the second line should be at least challenging the first line for points.

These 3 fowards and burrows are the least of my concerns along with our goaltenders

The more important question is. When was the last time the Canucks played a full 60 min game?

My post of av's playoff record, still believe that Jon Cooper, head coach of the Syracuse Crunch, is best available option.

If we get bounced in the 1st round or miss the playoffs then major changes need to happen but I'm not so sure Gillis would be the guy who could do it, I mean he went to bat to keep AV this last summer so he wont be firing the coach, even though it's what this team needs. The other issue is the NMC to do a shake up you need to start looking at trade core guys and they all have NMC/NTC and can you really move the Twins or Kesler and stay moving forward as contenders, I really don't think Gillis has ability to move big players, just look at the Luongo situation we're in. Also, when Gillis first came here he didn't make big moves, I just can't see him doing it now. Now I do think Gillis is a good GM and wouldn't want to see him go but he needs to learn to put friendship and business aside.

Gillis won't do anything.

gillis is just screwing up the team burke and nonis built! fire gillis and av before it's to late and were left with no good prospects and a team of could have been 35 40 year olds.

This is what everyone was saving just before the playoffs last year... Still nothing was done!

I can't stop Gillis is so full of himself i and has no clue how to run a hockey team, ive watched this team since its birth and the team we had 3 years ago was the best up and coming team we ever had just needed a tweak to win the first ever cup, unfortunately Gillis missed the boat and tweaked the wrong way.
it's time for him to go and let a hockey man take over and hopefully salvage what's left.

How about a change of ownership? In the news for all the wrong reasons; messy divorce, wcb malpractice and being sued by a doc??? Like someone needs to give the owner a lesson in optics

I agree something should've happened in the offseason, but I don't see this management group having it in them to take the risk it would be to trade someone like the Sedins or Kesler, they'll play it safe with the group they have and sell fans on the SCF run and that we were back to back president trophy camps and how you don't blow that up. It's kinda funny that the thing this team needs is moves like what LA did last year, fire the coach and make a big trade.

Vigneault needs to be fired and Luongo needs to be traded. That kind of overhaul would need to be simultaneous. I love AV to death, I think he's been a great coach for this team but I don't think he's ever had the chops to take us to a cup. Our team right now is probably the most deep among Canucks teams historically and so far they're completely screwing it up.

If we fire him, he'll have job offers flooding his phone very quickly. Sometimes you need a fresh set of eyes to look at the team, so I think the perfect guy to be our next Head Coach is Lindy Ruff. Ruff is tougher than Vigneault, he's got a ton of experience from Buffalo and Florida and he's also a good man. He's got a good relationship with Zack Kassian and it sounds like his departure from the Sabres had more to do with Hodgson's talents than Kassian's weaknesses. Ruff is the man to bring the cup here to Vancouver. I still think AV can too, but this team is really not looking good.

Yes, you can't justify firing one and not the other in my book.

MG has let this team wither on the vine and we have gone steadily downhill since 2010-11. The crime was MG didn't seem to notice. Probably too busy reading the happy clapper posts on here making every known excuse under the Sun for their abject performances.

It is a fact that had we not had 2 of the best goalies in the league we would have been on our knees long before now.

Trade with Phili

Luongo, Ballard/Booth/Raymond, and a 1st for L.Schenn and B.Schenn.

We get a Rhanded Dman(which I think we need) and a 2nd line C till Kesler's back, both are young which is a plus. Phili gets an Elite Goalie, a top6 Dman or a top6 fwd, and a 1st. I have doubts but what do you guys think?
