To Van:

Paul Stastny
Ryan O'Byrne

To Colorado:

Cory Schneider
Keith Ballard
2013 5th rd pick

Van gets a top playmaking 2L C to fill in for Kesler until he's healthy then when he's back either move Kesler to wing or play Stastny at 3L C(for this year only, long term move Kesler to wing). Van also gets a really solid cheap, versatile RH 6th D in O'Byrne who is from BC, good defensively, and has a decent shot. Colorado gets a great young goalie in Schneider who they can win with in the future. They also get Keith Ballard to boost their top 4. With Ballard making 4.2 though it's more of a cap dump. Colorado would be doing us a favour by taking that contract.

When healthy:

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Booth-Kesler-Raymond
Higgins-Stastny-Hansen
Sestito-Lapierre-Kassian

Edler-Garrison
Hamhuis-Bieksa
Tanev-O'Byrne

Luongo
Lack

or

Sedin-Sedin-Kesler/Burrows
Booth-Stastny-Kesler/Burrows
Higgins-_____-Hansen
Sestito-Lapierre-Kassian

*trade Raymond + pick for 3L C

Edler-Garrison
Hamhuis-Bieksa
Tanev-O'Byrne

Luongo
Lack

Varlamov????

Deal him. He's a decent goalie, NHL calibre starter for sure. But if you can get Schneider I think you do it.

Semyon Varlamov

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Why?

Teams don't generally give up a good asset like Stastny (who is third in team scoring) to upgrade a position they're already strong in. Varlamov has played well for them and has proven to be a more than capable starter. Like it or not Schnieder has yet to prove he has what it takes to be a consistent starter in the league. So you're asking Colorado to give up an integral part of their offence for what might be an upgrade in net (or might not be) In addition you expect them to take a bottom pairing defenceman who's paid like a top pairing guy.

On top of all that you expect them to turn around and try to trade Varlomov in a market that doesn't seem to put much value on goalies at the moment. Do I need to go on or has it sunk in to your skull yet why this deal makes no sense for Colorado?
