Sounds great if Aquilini Industries has secretly developed a weather machine.

No doubt. Are they going to play field hockey?

Schedule the same team playing Van twice in about a week or so and hope for the best?

"Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure--one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.” (David Rockefeller)

They have the technology to play an out door game in LA now so I'm sure vancouver will be no problem if the can avoid the rain. I think they cover and refrigerate the ice till game time and have some good size chillers under the ice.

So who do you figure we would play. Oilers or Ottawa?

Calgary got the Habs, Toronto gets Detroit and the WC. Jets are bidding for 2016.

Although buffalo has been to one why not make it battle of the 1970 expansion?

Um, if we were going to host an event as big as such, is Buffalo even in the top 15 teams we would play? Our rivalry with Buffalo would better be described as Kassian vs. Hodgson and Ehrhoff than it would be the battle of 1970... Sorry.

The good news is that when it rains we can close the roof and play the first indoor outdoor game in NHL history!

Vancouver/Colorado? Maybe a California team? The object is to up the ratings throughout the States, so..

Vancouver/Boston or Vancouver/Chicago would be awesome too, although both have been to an outdoor game. Still though.

Oh. Well...that'd be extremely boring. We have no REAL rivalries with other Canadian teams any more <_< I'd say Vancouver/Calgary or Vancouver/Ottawa...I'd hate to see the Oilers in a showcase game like that...

Really pushing the concept of an "outdoor" game in BC Place... even with the roof open (which probably wouldn't be the case as it would be raining), it hardly qualifies as outdoor. That little part of the roof that opens isn't very big.

They should have Passaglia drop the puck for the opening face-off.

Hell yes! Screw Edmonton. They already had one of these. Let's have it between teams who haven't played in one yet.

That was indoor... They just open up all of the doors in the arena. Hoping to get a chilly breeze seeping in, along with fake snow falling inside. It was stupid...

Oh wow, I didn't know about that one.

I thought you were referring about the Indoor Winter Classic just before the lockout.
