Brendan Mikkelson #29 - D

Tampa Bay
  • Age: 25
  • DOB: 1987/06/22
  • POB: Regina, Sask, Canada
  • Height: 6-3 Weight: 205lbs
  • Shoots: L
  • NHL Seasons: 4
  • Drafted by Anaheim in 2005 (2/31).
  • Current Status: On roster
Brendan would be a good fit for the Canucks. He is young and big for his age. Plus you can never have enough defenseman for this team. Specially the injured proned ones. His salary is only $600,000 and an RFA. Mike Gillis pull the trigger on this one if you are man enough to claim or make a trade on something. This team needs major upgrades in my mind.

What are your opinions on this one Canuck fans? Please be respectful and honest.

Go Canucks Go :canucks:

Prediction for tonights game is:

Canucks 3 Wild 0

Cheers :towel:

Another soft, left-shooting, depth defender is not what is needed to improve the Canucks.

If Mikkelson shot R, it would make more sense. Also, the additional $600 000 added to the cap for someone who will most likely be waived again pretty quickly is silly.

You disrespect MG by suggesting he is not man enough to act on your knee-jerk whims and then ask CDC for only respectful replies? Hmmm. Respect is earned. Gillis has earned his. You have a long way to go.

8 D on the roster is not enough?

Only way I can see this working is if they waive Alberts while picking him up and save about 600K in cap space.

But at least Alberts brings size and hitting.

I was not disrespecting Mike Gillis at all. Knee Jerk whims?!?! That's too funny! I wasn't asking CDC for the respect, I was asking for the fans to be respectful on this certain topic there D.A.

After we snagged Sestito, won't the Canucks be really low down on the waivers list anyway?

op says nothing wrong for you to bash him on respect... op don't take things seriously on here because ppl are here just crush comments and to be rude themselves...op suggested nothing he was asking opinions... read the post clearly next time................
don't take the comment to serious.. ppl on here are here strictly to control what they feel is negative....nothing wrong with what you said gillis likes depth and looks at all angles to improve his team... even if gillis knows he has an upper hand in getting him and knows someone else out there wants brendan.....

Again, past waiver transactions have no effect on future waiver transactions involving different players. The Canucks will have a turn at a waiver pickup based only on their position in the standings.

Mikkelson has some promise as a young defender, but has terrible possession numbers for someone who's strong suit seems to be puck handling and a transition game. He has played against some reasonably decent competition in his starts though, tougher than last year.
