Alex the Great
The Phoenix Coyotes have signed forward Henrik Samuelsson, their first-round pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, to a three-year entry-level contract, the terms of which were not disclosed. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Samuelsson has posted 32 goals and 79 points in 67 games this season with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League. He currently ranks third on the team in goals and points. The 19-year-old native of Scottsdale, Arizona finished the 2011-12 season with Edmonton, recording seven goals and 23 points in 28 games with the Oil Kings after recording two assists in 15 games with Modo Hockey Ornskoldsvik (Swedish Elite League). Samuelsson was originally drafted by the Coyotes with the 27th pick in 2012.
c00kies
Could have been a Canuck
Noseforthenet
I wanted him instead of Gaunce. He also seemed like the prototypical AV type player. Chippy grinder, right wing. Probably a better fit on the 3rd line than Hansen will be.
CookieCrumbs
This was a kid I really wanted the Canuck to get. If he's anything like his dad he'll be making friends real quick.

thad
I wanted him too but gaunce was by far the better pick IMO. We have that type of player but better in kassian.
Apple Juice
We could've had him but with Gaunce down that low, any GM would take the best player available.. Oh well

Pears
I was hoping for Samuelsson as well but I was very happy with Gaunce. I thought for sure he would've been taken at least before the 23rd pick.
Rounoush
Although I would have liked Samuelsson as well, Gaunce was the better pick and we need centremen.

thad
Same, I didn't mind Sammuelsson. But Gaunce fell and was a great pickup. And yeah, they aren't similar players rly IMO, but Henrik brings some of the same qualities, although Zack is much better in every area IMO,
Smashian Kassian
Yeah that's what I meant. Both big rugged right wingers but zack is just overall more skilled. I watched henrik live a couple times when Edmonton came to play the cougars. I really liked him but I got the sense he has a maximum ceiling of a Torres type player but bigger. David Booth
Good signing too bad we didn't get him but we know Gaunce is better. Winwin there.
