Sandro17
To Van: Adam Larsson Marty Brodeur To NJ Roberto Luongo Alex Edler/Keith Ballard IMO Edler due to his performance in the past few seasons can be considered trade bait. Ballards' good season now may also be something that can be considered trade bait for NJ. Marty Brodeur fills in as a back up for Schneider. Larsson has Size and Skill, IMO will be the next Chara and is a right handed shot I think he's the guy MG is looking for. NJ takes this deal because Brodeurs' contract is worth almost nothing and Brodeur fills in the need for a back up goalie until the off season where we can get a new back up on the free market. c00kies
New Jersey is not trading Brodeur (baring a tremendous offer). Larsson is going to cost a lot more than that, maybe Schneider and Edler would get it done...

c00kies
Yup, there's no way. He's close enough to retirement and he's won it all so there's no incentive for him to move anywhere (he has an NTC). Larsson will not cost that much more than Schneider alone and you're crazy if you think Edler holds that little value. Larsson will be great, but is not nearly as good as Edler offensively or in driving puck possession. Larsson also faces a little lesser competition. Edler hits more, blocks more shots, and their giveaway/takeaway ratios aren't that far apart (Edler 18/11, Larsson 16/12) to say that Edler is even worth less than Larsson. palindrom
I like this trade, there is no more playoff proven goalie around the league than Brodeur. Also, as many of us mentioned countless time just a year ago in all these Schneider for Parise thread: Brodeur could be a great mentor for Schneider until Schneider is ready to be a starter.
