Booth has one goal - an empty netter.
Ballard has no goals and one point - and he is riding the pine - can't even make the team.

The two of them have a cap hit of 8.4 million - who the hell is going to want that for 1 goal?

The only guy of your group playing at his level right now is Raymond and he is a poor man's second liner and he is an RFA.

Schroeder is a Smurf incapable of playing in the NHL - who the hell would want him?

It is already pretty evident that nobody wnats Luongo and Schneider's stock is down - the cap hit for Luongo is 5.3 mil.

Why would a team want to give up a top tier D man and take on 15 mil + in salaries for probably only one player of value - Raymond + an overpaid goalie? I think you should lay off the pot.

Ballard is actually doing pretty well defensively. That is all you can ask from someone who is playing the bottom pairing.

Saying Schroeder is incapable doesn't mean he is. That is just your opinion not fact.

Its probably because Gillis wants too much for Luongo. But we don't know the situation. I won't speculate on Schneider.

Despite all your comments, i won't make any childish insults.

BAD MOVE!!!

BAD FING MOVE

HAHAHA ANOTHER INJURED MORON ON OUR TEAM

HE WILL JOIN US IN 2019

Benning will be fired next year. Hope he enjoys screwing around for a few months. I just cant believe this. Another injured BC player. We just got rid of garrison. Seems like the canucks and linden just wanted any BC born player. Doesn't matter if hes good or not. We don't need another Linden to get us to game 7 of the Stanley cup and lose. We need someone to win us a cup.

5 million a year for Vrbata? 6 million for Miller? Kesler for Bonino and 24th instead of 10th pick or one of their top prospects? Garrison for scraps?

ive already lost faith in JB. Ive never EVER had this bad of a feeling about management.

Heres one thing I don't understand is why are there so many Debbie Downing Canucks fans who have no confidence in there team? Look at what we did the past 4 years??? OF COURSE WE HAVE A CHANCE AT TAKING THE DIVISION TITLE! Of course it's harder now, as there are 7 teams instead of 5, but still! Mike gillis just needs to patch up some holes on our team, (3rd line centerman, maybe a winger) and we are pretty much fine.

I agree Absolutley

It will cut down on the crazed amount of travel this team puts in every season for one.

I think the realinment will be good, less travel and more competition.

Has it actually been established that realignment will mean less travel? The Canucks will play one away game against each non-divisional team. That makes for 23 games in far-away cities.

EDIT: it certainly will mean less travel in the playoffs. In 2011 the team had a ton of travel in the first two playoff rounds.

I hope they resurrect the old division names:

Smythe, Norris, Adams, and Patrick

How can they not?

Because the guy in charge of the league is a donkey?

McCoy: We were speculating. Is God really out there?
Kirk: Maybe he's not out there, Bones. Maybe he's right here. [points to his heart]

The division will be thankfully more competitive after realignment.

It will be good for the team. It will keep them sharp.

IT makes us start to miss the playoffs soon. Sedin's are getting up there in age and we don't have a very good prospect pool at all. Unless we get amazing trades or free agency signings (No prospects to trade to fix Sedin's aging hole, Kesler injury etc, and we've had terrible luck with FA signings for the most part.) we're pretty boned, and while we might've been able to fight for a division crown with the current NW division, it's unlikely we'll be able to keep up with that division if only the top 3 are going to the playoffs for sure.

it means fewer easy points from columbus and losing a strong and entertaining rivalry with the wings.

It certainly helps in the travel department. Competition-wise its certainly more difficult, but there is still Calgary and Edmonton who perpetually suck, and San Jose is not the powerhouse it once was.

What is the deal with Mike Gillis, it always seems like he's sweating...

Tougher competition will be great but at the same time, this team will need a few changes before next season to get an advantage on the new division teams. We do have a good team when all healthy, but still an additional player or two would help solidify the team.

As the title suggests what do you all think the approved realigment for the league will do for Vancouver?

It will cut down on the crazed amount of travel this team puts in every season for one.

It will also add a good amount of better competition to our division. I like this because it will be a better measurement of our team and hopefully prepare them better come playoff time.

It mean the end of our automatic third seed in the playoffs since we won't be coasting to a division title anymore.

To some extent. Having to play desperate hockey all season can lead to more fatigue/injuries.

Perhaps this is true...we can't get our team healthy as it is and we are playing in the weak NW division. What if we got a steady diet of teams like Chicago, Pittsburgh or Boston?

Yep, we're gonna get to play big teams like Anaheim, LA, and San Jose a lot more now. Not looking forward to it.

Umm, ok...

The only rivalry we are losing is the one with Chicago.

And it doesn't matter how many rivalries we lose, the leauge as a whole is better off with this realignment (with the exception of the Florida teams, but who cares about Florida anyway?) and new rivalries will be born.
