I love Gold on the Ceiling, but as a goal song, I don't think it's quite as exciting as it could be. I would like if we could find something super original that gets the whole crowd involved, something like Chelsea's Dagger or the Doop song that we can call our own and have it for years to come.

I for one wanted to keep Vamanos (or however the hell that is spelled) as I wanted to get some tradition going. But with that being said...

I absolutely love Gold On The Ceiling as our new goal song. IMO it is 10x better than Vamanos. I say keep it and keep it FOR GOOD. Please no more of this changing crap every year. I think we found a goal song that is awesome and most people agree is awesome. So please let's stick with it.

I would like this too.

Although I'm not decided yet my opinion on what was used tonight.

I like the song, just not sure as a goal song, partly because I could barley here it but we will see.

Way better than Electric Worry AKA probably the worst goal song ever imaginable.

LOVE THE CHOICE DJ DAVE. It's up there with Holiday!

I like the house that heaven built by japandriods as a goal song....didn't really notice this goal song but i'll listen for it better next time the TSN broadcast didn't give much of the on ice/arena sound in it's mix

To be honest, I felt that Electric Worry was more goal-song type than Gold on the Ceiling.
Don't get me wrong I like it, but I personally think the other one is better.

The song is still too dull and quiet, barely notice it.

This is the ultimate pump up song, exactly what we want in the arena.....Ultimate Warrior theme. Canucks score, 0:17mark this song. WOW

7 goals with a new goal song. Gold on the ceiling it is. Ride the hot hand and keep it going until we get shutout.

Now i'm not sure what kind of elephant lyrics this band is mumbling,
but if your going for a driving bassline that has a fun
'goal celebration' groove to it, i think 'Elephant' by Tame Impala
is a winner.

I agree with the others on here, i didn't even notice there was
a goal song playing tonight, it was SO quiet, maybe that was TSN's fault,
or perhaps it was the song's fault, i dunno. But either way, im glad
VAMANOS has vamanosed. That track was uber cheesy and to 'try hard',
like it reminded me of Dora the Explorer, which is the cheese part,
and like vamanos vamanos bang bang bang, like what is that? thats
the try hard part LOLOL. either way, im glad that one is done.

In my opinion, if it comes down to a pumping bassline in a similar style
to 'Gold on the Ceiling', then i would say the Black Keys track
is the poor man's version of 'Elephant' by Tame Impala. I think Elephant
trumps the pump. the first minute anyway.

_________________________________________________________________________

OR PERHAPS you wish to switch musical stylez a bit, this track definitely pumps
and the song title seems to fit the occasion.

I seem to hear alot of 'WOOing' after goals so it seems only natural a
little WOO BOOST by Rusko should garner some attention.

for those saying you couldnt hear it, that's because TSN turned down the background audio so everything you heard was actually really different than in the arena. I went to the game last night, and it was absolutely rockin, the song was really loud and everyone seemed really into it.

I still like Electric Worry, but, Gold on the Ceiling is an awesome song too. Not a great audience participation song though. With Electric Worry, the theory was that the crowd would yell "Bang Bang Bang Bang, Vamonos Vamonos" with every goal. Didn't happen, but in terms of a goal song, that should be one of the criteria...something that the crowd can chant to cheer our boys/ or hassle the opposition...

speaking of which...IF we ever end up in a Cup Final vs the NJ Devils...the goal song should automatically change to the chorus of Shout at the Devil.

And Sidney...not everyone wants holiday back...a great number of us rightfully recognize it as suckish. The same logic used applies to Clutch, in case you haven't noticed. Alot of people think it should stay, myself included.

That said, if it must change, Gold on the Ceiling is a great tune.

I hate the clutch song as a goal song. You can barely hear the background music. All you hear him yelling is bang bang bang. People were never going to start singing along to this song because too much participation is needed. It's also a bit harder because for some parts of the strong the baaaaaaaaang is stressed more. If you want the crowd to start yelling out the lyrics it pretty much has to be one word that is repeated throughout it, but wit a tiny bit of a gap in between saying it. Songs like Song 2 by Blur, Rock'n Roll Part 2 and dynamite by taio cruz.

I can guarantee that there are more people that dislike clutch as a goal song compared to holiday. Holiday is a bit of a random choice, but a lot of people have associated it with our scf run and it brings back a lot of good memories.

I always love how people come on and make guarantees about more people like one goal song versus another.

I remember all the threads (frankly, just as many as there are now, if not more) about getting rid of Holiday, and when Electric Worry was suggested, I'd never seen so much support for any one choice. There wasn't the same level of support for keeping Holiday either at that point so Electric Worry was getting the highest percentage of the posts supporting any one song.

Maybe people are hearing it more and not liking it as much, but I still haven't heard anything I'd genuinely want to replace it with that hasn't already been used elsewhere.

Oh, and that 'doop' song made my ears bleed. That's horrible, so nothing like that.

Play the other team's goal song whenever WE score against them!

Wouldn't it be great, lighting up Chicago and having Chelsea Dagger play every time the Canucks score a goal?

I didn't even remember the goal song changed till halfway through the 2nd period - I just didn't notice it. Compared to Vamanos, which seemed more in-your-face. When I paid more attention, I thought it was ok, but would still prefer something more explosive.

Ok thanks for that info, I'll do a wait and see for next game if it sticks around.

I've been to a lot of Oiler games, and by far the best goal song they used to have also used to be a black keys song:
