boxiebrown
According to Bob McKenzie: "Kellan Lain, a 6-foot-6 centre from Lake State, may be one of first college free agents to sign with NHL team, maybe within next 48 hours." link "The Oakville, Ont., native is getting a lot of interest from Western Conference teams, including ANA, DET, PHX and VAN, amongst others." link Here is his HockeyDB page: link 16 points in 32 games as a senior this year, with 111 PIMs, and 15 in 38 with 59 PIMs last year. Obviously a big body, seems like he likes to be physical, and has a bit of offensive upside. Interesting!
susraiders
Could be a good fourth line option down the road. I would assume that he is just a replacement for Pinnizotto in Chicago
Captain Aerosex
I don't know anything about him, but "6'6 centre" sounds tantalizing
TOMapleLaughs
Probably wants to step into an NHL role right away. He's big enough, but Is he fast enough?

Ossi Vaananen
Massive. I wonder about these college FA's though, it's hit or miss. He'll be a project.
WonderTwinPowers
Free prospects are always good. I wonder how many of those PIM were majors. Could even make the team by next season if he can skate and win face offs with his size and some physicality could be an excellent bottom sixer. Just never know with college players though

Aladeen
Free University FA prospects are really the route to go for the Canucks to restock the cuboards. This guy sounds great just cause you can't teach being 6'6"

Ossi Vaananen
We used to wonder about tanev too haha. Did you guys see that defenseman that was 6'8 225 one tsn's top 3 college ufas?.. He was Czech or something, anyone know how good he his?
Smashian Kassian
Hmm hopefully we sign him, although I wonder what his offensive capabilites are, maybe just a big 3rd line center but who knows, either way would be a nice add to the cupboard. Zoolander
He would be a great pick-up for sure! TSN says Gillis has been phoning around but obviously the market is quiet. Guys like Kellan Lain and the more notable Adrej Sustr would amazing alternatives if the market remains the same. Andrej Sustr # - D Age: 22DOB: 1990/11/29POB: Plzen, Czech. LeanBeef
Ya, that's Sustr, he's listed in Bobby Mac's top 3 college FAs. Here's the DB link: Sustr I was hoping for higher PIMs for a guy that big, seems more like a point getter.
Ossi Vaananen
-Sustr I never thought I'd say this, but 218 is kind of light. I mean for a guy 6'8'' I think a healthy 230 minimum. With a frame that big, let's hope he dirty bulks in the offseason.
