Claiborne55
Canucks will not get Hanzal without overpaying. He's not worth it.
Smashian Kassian
I'm expecting fast to mean fast and slow to mean slow. 'Fast for his size' is a totally worthless assessment. Sestito is not fast. He's barely NHL-qualified. If this guy is slower, then there's a good chance that he'll never be an NHLer, despite being 'fast... for his size.' Claiborne55
Alright, then Sestito is average. I guess by that metric, if you like to compare guys like Raymond to 220+ pound guys like Sestito and Lain. Then Lain and Sestito are average. Although the "good for his size" is a comparison against other players his size. A rental is all we really need, and if they could all be had for the same price (Putting rental/contracts aside) I would take Bozak, his skillset is what we need. Just LHed. That's why I bring up Stajan, but his contract is a killer for us, otherwise he would be perfect for this team IMO.
Ghostsof1915
0:32 to 0:40. Looks like he's not afraid to go to the dirty areas, and not afraid of the rough stuff at the end of the game. I'm quite happy with the gamble.
TOMapleLaughs
If Sestito is average then Raymond is what? Super-duper-ultra fast? Lol. Nm.

Tangelos
Why not just trade for Martin Hanzel... we need help now. These moves may or may not help in 3 years. So really hard to get excited about this.
Smashian Kassian
Stajan's contract doesn't seem that bad... definitely have to move Ballard's $4 Million and it a savings.... Still can't believe that Ballard makes that much.
Karlsson`s Flo
Kings picked up 2 Centres last year... overpaid for...probably a yes for Carter and Richards... but worth.... YES

Claiborne55
3.5 for one more year after this one, with a NTC. Maybe not terrible, but with the cap going down perhaps it isn't the greatest contract to take on.
Smashian Kassian
Hanzel is 3.1 Million... for 4 more years... he might be expensive trade wise... but lets be bold for once. Lets solve this Centre problem.
Claiborne55
Canucks can't afford to overpay like the Kings could. Kings gave up Schenn (20 year old, 5th overall pick in 09) plus Simmonds (Hansen type value) and 2nd; and they gave of Johnson (3rd overall pick of his draft, top 4 defender who's 25 mins a game) plus a first. You don't get it. Who would fill Hanzal for Phoenix? He's swapping 1st line and 2nd line minutes for them. They already traded away Turris. Booth, prospect, and a pick will not be want they want. Ossi Vaananen
So I heard from team 1040 that Malhotra actually was coached by Kellen Lain's dad back in Mississauga, so Lain was actually looking forward to working with Manny and learning faceoffs. This works out, since Malhotra is currently in a coaching role with the Wolves. If Kellen can become anything like Manny, that being a shut down centre, we could have a real money baller on our hands.

Claiborne55
I agreed. phx is not going traded him when they fighting for a playoff spot..........why don't people understand this?
Smashian Kassian
I just don't buy it...player moves happen all the time... you probably would have said the Canucks couldn't have traded for Jeff Carter last year because he isn't available. Teams just make moves to change things up sometimes. Like Cole for Ryder.
Jai604
Wow, some people are just retarded. Nobody is touting this kid to save this franchise, for frack's sake. I have no idea why anyone would be upset over snagging a good prospect, FOR FREE. Why would you guys be upset at the potential of having a big, mean, decently mobile 3rd/4th line center who can hit and chuck 'em one day? Isn't this guy EXACTLY the type of player everyone's been screaming for? Are you guys on drugs? Why all the negativity?
