nothing wrong with a free prospect. Hopefully he can continue to evolve his game and become a useful nhl player.

I like this signing. Hopefully he can pan out and become a good 3rd/4th liner of the future.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Questions.

1. Can he skate backwards well and is he mobile?

2. Does he have a shot?

3. If so, turn him into Chara 2.0

would really like sustr. Big seems to be mobile defenceman with a huge reach. If we get him I would be super pumped, this is decent, Hopefully gaunce can start as a 3rd line center and maybe grown into top 6 and this guy can be top 9, in a perfect world that is

a 6'6 fast skating centerman. Not complaining here, since its a free player. I'm hoping he can land one of those popular defencemens. Surrey boy Shayne Taker, 6'4 offensive dman. Get er done Mike!

Why not just trade for Martin Hanzel... we need help now. These moves may or may not help in 3 years. So really hard to get excited about this.

We do...maximum NHL contracts allowed is 50, which we're at.

Those players under contract who are 18, 19 playing in junior does not count against the 50 contracts. So, Brendan Gaunce and Evan McEneny's contracts do not count towards the 50. Frank Corrado turns 20 on March 28, 2013, so he'll start to count as of his birthdate. Canucks have room to sign one more to stay at the 50 max, but I suppose they could buy out any of the contracts (Gordon? Anthony? Mullen? Joslin?) to create the space they need to sign more FAs.

You don't have to get excited, in fact we don't care if you do. It's not like every deal has to be a blockbuster, and we're still weeks away from the trade deadline.

He's a free prospect, one that projects as a big, strong depth center who is good at faceoffs. Works for me considering some of the other bottom end prospects we can dump to make room for him.

If this team lets go of Sang he will burn this team next year.

really..before today... probably never heard of him... and now he is our future hope... sorry... I just don't think so. I know we are grasping at straws these days...waiting for MG to do something... this player is all to do with his size... 6'6" .. nothing more to see.

I think, what he meant was low risk, becuase he's a free agent signing. The high reward is we get a free 6'6 player if he does pan out. The most important thing is getting him for free. That's all. MIke Gillis can still pursue Martin Hanzel if he wanted too, as I'm sure he is still looking for a centerman. Lain is just a free prospect. MIke Gillis's plan is to sign college players every 2 years. So nothing to lose here.

He's a Centre
He's quite agressive, big hitter
For his size, he's very mobile and has decent speed
He has a big shot, but his offensive instincts are below average, he excells at faceoffs and defensive zone coverage.

Detroit fans are pretty choked that we signed him, for what it's worth.
