I enjoy Booth as a player and as a person. I think our 2nd line is a mess as we don't have a playmaker. They line itself seems to drive hard to the net, but seems to lack any sort of strategy beyond that. It's like a skilled (on paper) grinding line.
Back to Booth, I'm wondering how many of these injuries pertain to his conditioning (or lack there of) during the lockout.
None. His play style is just hard work and grit, and when refs let stuff slide, these are the guys who get hurt. It's no coincidence Kesler and Booth are out, and Kass' back starts flaring up again. It's the punishment from refs' refusal to call dangerous plays that result in injury because the memo from upstairs says Canucks shouldn't win this game.
Also Booth will make you all look like Clutch when this "Do we really need him?" post comes back to bite you in your collective asses. He plays a damn good game and when he's on the ice we control the play more than with any other player outside of the 1st liners. Even more so than when Kesler is on the ice, the advanced stats don't lie.
