Canucks will update Booth status tonight, having your stall emptied of its contents likely not a good sign for coming back soon.— JAY JANOWER (@DOUBLEJGLOBALBC) March 18, 2013

Edit: How the heck do you add twitter to CDC?

It was pretty obvious it was season ending wasn't it?

There's only like a month and a half left in the season. 4-6 weeks seems to be about the average for most serious injuries, so that would take it to the end of the season. And even then, I doubt they put a player coming back from injury into the lineup during the playoffs.

Meh.. He wasn't doing much out there anyways...

Put Booth on LTIR for the rest of the year, trade for a good replacement, then trade Booth in the off-season.. He didn't fit in as well as he should have...

We need to add something before the deadline.

Only thing is, what on earth do we have that other teams want and we're willing to give up? I have a feeling Schneider will be dealt.

He was creating a lot of chances. Just didn't have the finish or luck on his side.

to bad it seemed like he was about to break out of his slump esp playing with Kassian they looked real good just didn't get the puck luck they needed.
I think if it wasn't for his injuries he would have been the player he was expected to be.

I think people should lower their deadline expectations. With a deep draft ahead, I don't see MG moving assets just for the possibility of a 7-8 spot in the playoffs and first round exit. Not saying he wants them to miss, but I doubt he'll make a reactionary move this season.

I'm not so sure we bring in too much cap, although we could put Booth/Kesler/Manny on LTI to let us go over the cap if we did make a trade like that. We still have to get rid of $6-7M in cap space for next year, so the suggestions of Roy, Ribero, etc. don't make as much sense as a more affordable option or a veteran rental we don't give up too much for.

Back to Booth, the Canucks won't have an official update until later, but they did say to not expect it to be short term. Tough to see a guy like that who could offer more and was starting to play better get injured again. He and Ballard are likely casualties of the cap dropping, but whether that's through a buyout or trade remains to be seen.

Good thinking, at least in theory. If you were a GM anywhere, would you be interested in DB's $4.25M contract at that time, especially with the cap shrinking next year?

Unfortunately, we're not dealing with a bunch of clueless GMs - I personally think it will be hard to move him.

Outside of generating at least a power play per game, hitting, and generating chances ...

Oh, wait, that's more than what half our team does ...

Gillis better be able to work some trade deadline magic with that extra cap space that will become available.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it
