Primus099
Ottawa has 4 wins in their last 10 games while we have 3 wins in the last 10.
Baggins
How many times have we come short already in the playoffs with him at the helm? The definition of insanity, continueing to do the same thing and expecting different results.
Ride the red Pony
To the posters who still believe that AV is the right fit here, and just needs a healthy team, and a few pieces provided by MG. And are asking the question, " What if we fire AV and we end up with the same results?" Well I guess that same question could be posed in regards to bringing in different players, What if we bring in what we perceive to be the answer, or answers, at positions of need. and end up with the same results? IMO MG has travelled that road, and the end result hasn't been successful, wrong players? maybe, but again he has brought in players that were successful on other teams, and once landing here have lost the success they once had. How many bad contracts or perceived bad contracts are we gonna saddle this team with before we realize that maybe just maybe the answer was right there all along, and won't cost us any more cap space. We are so willing as fans to have a rotating door for players to move in and out, but yet fight tooth and nail to keep a coach that is struggling the last 1.5 yrs. Now that is what doesn't make sense to me.
cc_devil
Sedin Sedin Burr Hansen Ebbett Raymond Higgins Lappy Pinnizotto Sestito Schroeder Weise Really really that's the line up you go with come on AV. Ebbet over Schroeder and Lappy. A preschooler knows more on how to set a line up. What was the point of bringing back JS to play on the fourth? Yes you have a weaker line up but really! AV and his staff just got to go along with their Ebbet and numerous other project players.

Kevin Biestra
Did he win? Yeah this team went to the cup finals ONCE and beyond the first round 1 other time. He's big time underachieved with this talent group. We've had some really good players come through here on his watch and he's more concerned about making them fit "The System" then maximizing the talents those players have. To all those pointing to his regular season win's and two Presidents Trophy's can you just stop please? All of that is meaningless.
DaMacNamedDre
i seriously doubt this team will make the playoffs at this rate.
Dogbyte
it would make absolutely no difference which line any of those players were slotted into. thats an ahl lineup no matter how you shake it.
taib mahmud
Hey ..... maybe playing Chicago in the 1st round p/off may stoke some belly-fire in them and create some surprises. After-all, it's hockey and any team can win or lose on any given nite. That said, we should be happy even if they only get passed the 2nd round p/off, or even the 3rd. But honestly, they don't deserve to be in the p/off !!

Aladeen
How'd that work out last time? He got a bench penalty for standing on the bench and yelling, "that's a penalty!"..
howswedeitis76
Ottawa has their #1 goalie #1 Center and Norris winning D-man out among others, what's our excuse? and please don't say our injuries are comparable because they aren't even close
MrsCanuck
MG needs to grow a pair and make a big move. aka. fire AV / make a trade that actually impacts the performance of this team.
Primus099
Our injuries aren't comparable? Kesler is easily as important to the team as Spezza is to Ottawa...arguably matches Karlsson in terms of importance to this team, particularly if you think of the powerplay. (I would concede Karlsson is more important but not by that wide a margin.) Booth...well, he WOULD be as important to the team as Spezza, if he performed and produced like we hoped he would. For him, even healthy, expectations weren't being met. Bieksa was out for a while too, and he would have been comparable in importance to our team as Anderson or Spezza is to Ottawa. Remember, the issue is importance to our team, not stats and skill. So, if Booth were producing as well as was expected/hoped, and Bieksa was out just a bit longer (knock on wood that it doesn't happen), then yes, our injuries would indeed be "comparable". That said, Ottawa has managed to perform better despite such injuries, and that is a difference that can't be ignored.
