Canuck fans don't deserve to see this team go to the finals agian, last 2 times we did we fracking embarrassed ourselves and made our city look bad

Not all Canuck fans live in Vancouver.

I watched the '82, '94 and 2010 Cup finals and the only thing I burned was my way through a couple of cases of beer....
Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

I think going to the cup final in 2011 was the worst thing for the Canucks in the present. It caused nothing but bad ripple effects throughout the organization and among fans. While winning it would have changed obviously everything , we didnt and it did change everything but not for the better. Right on down from the top its like everyone lost their minds and made panic moves or lost their sense of how we were winning games with confidence and swagger. Yes we won a presidents trophy last season too but they were on the slide as the season wiound down and you know it just wasnt the same team, injuries and all too. Honestly a loss to San Jose may have been the best thing for them in the Conference Final that year. We had already beat Chicago and got that off our backs and a conference final loss would have saved everyone the entire Boston SCF ordeal mentally and physically. There are too many points that have been posted already in threads to mention but you know what they are and how they relate to the team in regards to my post. Heres hoping the whole Canuck nation gets on track and finds the winning combo again. Go Canucks!!!

Thoughts??

So, how does the 2011 SCF final relate to the issues today regarding this team again? Bad ripple effects? Changed everything not for the better? Panic moves? You need to elaborate.

Hindsight is 20/20. If knowing that we would lose in game 7 finale in a series that could have been ours, would I have rather not seen the team utterly collapse under the pressure, knowing they were so close? Yup, probably.

If you go back to the San Jose series without the knowledge of the finals, would I want to see the Canucks play their hearts out and best them as quickly as they did? Yup, you betcha.

Really, it is pointless to think about. I would always want our players to go as far as they can, because we had and still have talent. I'd rather think of the couple of well fought games in the final... When torres got that game winner, I'm sure a lot of us remember that feeling.

I live about 500 miles away as the crow flies and about 1000 miles by road. I resent being lumped in with fans who "don't deserve a Cup".

Honestly, thats some drama queen BS. It was a minor sports riot. They happen all the time. I don't condone it, did not participate in it (other than helping to clean the next day) but am not the least bit embarrased by it. People were emotional. People were drunk. There were non fan bad elements persent to get the ball rolling, sucking in the young, ignorant drunk guys. Glass was broken, fully insured buisnesses had some theft, and a few cars burned. Nobody died. Nobody was seriously injured. Get over it.
