DO NOT GET a Sunfire.......some of the most unreliable and low quality cars ever made by chevy.....and that's saying a lot.

I owned 2 Sunfires from 2000-2006. I didn't have a single problem with either one of them. Maybe I just had good luck? We owned each one for just over 3 years then traded them in for a new car. I live in Dawson Creek, too. Harsh winters. The Sunfires were great in the snow.

Just my experience. The Sunfire was an entry level car. We bought both of ours new and they were both excellent.

ummmmm... you obviously do not know what a Vehicle Identification Number can give you in regards to info on a car and yes that is the primary purpose of a VIN#search. To see the status of a vehicle(rebuilt or active status) and it will show in black and white not who but how many times it has been registered since it became active in the database. This is a legal right of any citizen. Cost $25 for the simple one and a carfax report is around $50 I think.

LOL, accidently gave you a plus. I am well aware. I have been in the auto industry for a number of years. An ICBC vehicle history report does NOT show how many times it has been registered.

Also carfax is EXTREMELY unreliable and A LOT of information about the car is never added to those reports.

Consider yourself very lucky B) .

Also if you bought them new and took great care of them from the start then that will have a big impact.

This is very unrealistic.

Its 2013.

60s-70s Muscle cars are going for +$20,000 nowadays.

For a mind condition car it'll be that much however as hugmanskost said if OP doesn't mind doing some work he could find one in his price range.

Exactly what we did, Rinaldo. The only thing we ever did to either car was regular service which was all under warranty. We got right around $7G's for both on our trades, too. Sunfires were rated quite highly when we owned, which is why we bought two. The only huge negative was side impact ratings... 1 star out of 5. Thank god we never got t-boned!

I have never seen a positive review of a Sunfire ever for any year. Not in any road tests. Not in any consumers report for new or used vehicles. On the plus side you can buy a 2005, the last year made, for a very low price.

Civics are always a great choice. They last for a long time.

My first car was a Nissan Sentra. 2001 I believe. It lasted me quite awhile, but not without a few repairs.

Here's a few consumers who disagree with you, OT. Found on the first 2 pages of a Google search.

http://www.autotrade...ontiac/Sunfire/

http://autos.msn.com...nfire&year=2004

http://www.auto123.c...artid=9419&pg=5

There is lots of positive and negative info out there. To say there is no positive is exaggeration.

My friend has had tons of issues with her 2012 Mazda 3, but I haven't heard anything too bad from friends that have the older ones.

The only one for sure to look out for is the Mazdaspeed 3 has a habit of throwing rods within 150,000km.

Since I never said there were no positives I wasnt exaggerating. I said I had never seen a positive review. That review you used to prove positive reviews from MSN autos was funny. The user reviews were 8.5/10 and professional reviews were 3.5/10. Ill go with the pros thanks.

The Mazda 3 is on par with the Honda civic in reliability and fuel economy. A very good car overall. They have sold millions of the cars so there are a lot around to choose from.
