He should've just taken the contract given, it was clear that the twins helped rejuvenate his career and they were the ones deserving of an extension. Their production only kept increasing even after he left too...but yeah, you made them that way Anson. He was lowballed, but it was the year after the lock-out. You finally got a player with great chemistry with the Sedins, and then you totally lowballed him (he deserved at least 2.5 million but was offered like 1.5 IIRC). Then you traded away draft picks for Taylor Pyatt and gave him a 1.5 million contract. While he was relatively effective with the twins, the Sedins never got a reliable linemate again until Alex Burrows (and Samuelsson) a few years later.
