Don't know if it will ever happen, but Babcock would CERTAINLY be a worthy replacement if AV happens to find the door locked behind him after this season is over. I know they've been struggling but they had 9 regulars out at one point and still have 5 out, including Helm and Bertuzzi. If he wants out, or they want him out, it would have to be a management conflict over personnel or a power struggle, I would think. I have my doubts. From his NHL bio - Away from the rink Babcock is involved in several charitable causes. Most notably, he donates two tickets to each Red Wings home game to a child battling cancer and meets with him or her prior to the game. He is also a spokesperson for the Jeffrey Thomas Hayden Foundation, which was created to increase awareness about pediatric brain tumors and provide education and support to affected families.
