afan Posted March 23, 2013 Share Posted March 23, 2013 When MG announced Luongo would be the number 1 goalie before the start of last year's playoff, I already knew Vancouver would be out in the 1st round. It was a sin committed by MG and AV to allow Luongo dig a 0-3 hole for the team before they let in Schneider. Just for the reason that Schneid's stats gets better while Luongo's deteriorates come playoff time, Schneider must start the series if MG and AV don't want to commit suicide again. Play Schneider until he loses a game and then play Luongo until he loses one. This will ensure any Luongo off-games which is bound to happen, will not hurt Vancouver in consecutive games that would rule out any recovery in a series. Of course, a Luongo at his best is more than capable of stealing a game when things are not going right for Vancouver when he plays. This system of 2 goalies will also give a relief on the pressure goalies have to face in the playoffs and I expect both Schneider and Luongo will play better in the playoffs.
