Merci

Kesler with Sedins, Schroeder new 2nd line center

41 posts in this topic

This isn't really a armchair GM thread, just what do people think of this.

Sedin Sedin Kesler

Raymond Schroeder Hansen

Booth Lapierre Burrows

Higgins Ebbett Kassian

We upgrade our 1st line into our power play set up. Our 2nd line becomes the speed/skill line we've missed since Raymond/Kesler/Sammuelson

Our 3rd line becomes the definition of hard fore checking while attempting to cause turn overs into break aways.

And the 4th line is the best we have.

Thoughts?

Edit:

Or

Sedin Sedin Burrows

Raymond Schroeder Hansen

Booth Kesler Kassian

Weise Lapierre Higgins

Rather have Kes on the 2nd cause he won't be playing the cycling game with the Sedins.

If they do this then I really hope one of AV or Gillis is gone since they never tried it with Hodgson.

Too soft of a second line. And someone needs to anchor that second line, which is usually Kesler. If we don't get a top 6 forward, I hope our lines are these when Kes is back:

Sedin-Sedin-Kassian

Raymond-Kesler-Burrows

Higgins-Schroeder-Hansen

Pinnizotto-Lapierre-Weise

When Booth comes back, I think he should be on the fourth.

No, I think the best option is to get Roy out of Dallas.

I think that opens up a bunch of possible lineups.

Daniel - Henrik - Kesler

Booth - Roy - Burrows

Raymond - Schroeder - Hansen

Higgins - Lapierre - Kassian

Daniel - Henrik - Burrows

Booth - Roy - Kesler

same 3rd 4th as said previously.

or if we feel schroeds isn't ready, then

Daniel - Henrik - Burrows

Booth - Kesler - Kassian

Raymond - Roy - Hansen

Higgins - Lapierre - Weise/Sestito/Pinner

lot's of possibilities with roy.

I fail to understand why people have such a fascination with proposing how the Canucks should layout their lines.

Seriously...it's mind boggling...what exactly are you hoping to accomplish?

Do you think MG/AV have nothing better to do and come on here to see what some people on CDC want and say yes, that's lineup we need!

In other words, it's pointless. A complete waste of time.

I wasn't aware that we had such a surplus at center that we don't even need Kesler to do it anymore.

Nah, Kes is better suited as a C on the 2nd. And plus rather than having all of our eggs in 1 basket. It allows us to have 2 major scoring threats.

Really want Kesler infront of the net getting pushed and beat on? Then he get's injured again and is out for another injury, how about getting a power forward who is known in the NHL already to go to the net and take a beating, but also can stand his ground and put the puck in the net.

As others have said, why mess with success? We know Burrows is good there and Kassian can also fill in so we don't need to overload the first line. Having Kesler on the second will allow us to use him for more faceoffs rather than sharing with Hank, and he can be a bigger presence to bring Schroeder along if they play together (likely with Raymond).

Most important though is that we spread the wealth when it comes to faceoffs between Hank, Kes and Lappy since we've been sorely lacking with both Kes and Manny out for extended periods.
