Pasific Coluseum
How are these 2 players any different? Both are fighters who get miniscule minutes and score once in a blue moon. The Hordichuk experiment was a failure and it's obvious Sestito hasn't worked out here hence the reason Flyers waived him. Name me some dissimilarities because quite honestly I can't name one! billabong
Only thing keeping him here is injuries When we get healthy he will be sent on waivers....it wouldn't be the worse thing in the world if gets claimed
Gustavo Fring
Sestito isnt harming the team defensively. The 4th line today actually played a lot in the offensive zone. Which is all you can ask.
Trebreh
This is kinda random..? Sestito has been great since the pickup, he hits, fights, aggitates and hasnt looked out of place 5 on 5. He is an intimidating precense on the forecheck, something we lost when MG let Torres go. In the Wild game Suter almost crap his pants when he saw Sestito came charging. I like Sestito, I hope MG has long term plans for him, if he can practice the fighting aspect of his game, we've got a legit heavyweight that can skate and play a regular shift in the organization. Opmac
The difference is Tom Sestito is 6'5" and 228 pounds versus 6'1" and 212 pounds. He can hit to hurt. In his two seasons in Vancouver, Hordichuk averaged 5:31 and 6:01. Sestito is averaging 6:30. Sestito can actually tangle with the heavyweights in the league and doesn't put his head down and throw punches wildly. He also actually has some offensive upside (based on the fact he scored 42 goals in 2006-07 in the OHL). Hordichuk never had more than six goals in junior. GLASSJAW
anyone else laugh at "the Hordichuk experiment"? as if Hordichuk was brought in to alter the team's philosophy and approach to the game these are grizzly 4th line plugs playing a handful of minutes a game, ideally to stir a bit of energy in the tomb that is Rogers Arena. don't put so much thought into it. Jagr68
The difference is Tom Sestito is 25 and could still be groomed into something more than a complete goon; Hordi was a goon when he got here.
Dragonfruits
Sestito has been a good 4th liner for the canucks and not a liability on the ice
SEAN HARNETT
He actually hits and the other teams feel it when he does. Drops the gloves when he needs to. Even if he doesn't score, he is playing physical and keeping the puck in the other teams zone. What more do expect from a fourth liner?
samurai
Yeah I am disappointed that Sestito hasn't turned into a top six power forward. He needs time to adjust but he has been fine and I like his game. Him and Weise literally give this team a one two punch. This team has now become a lot tougher. He's been a good pick up so far. Trebreh
his sheer size alone intimidates the other team, did you see Clifford and Fraser try and push him in a little scrum and Sestito just looked at them and both skated away.
