Also, I'm surprised anything happened at all. Didn't even know the league was looking at it, so it's nice that they did without prompting. Sure it's not 2 games like Edler got, but it's a start. I guess Shanny missed the headlines where a hit like that can actually paralyze a player....But as per usual the league wouldn't want to enforce some proactive measures to maybe help prevent somebody from inevitably getting paralyzed in the NHL. Seriously, what is putting a player in more danger...Edler running into the goalie behind the net or Penner boarding Tanev. His stick hit the side of Nielsen's helmet rather than a direct hit in an unprotected area like on Henrik. The kicker: this was before Shanahan took over with his transparency and accountability BS.
